P'tran gives a nod and a smile to Nya. "Evening. Benden's duty to Ista
Weyr."

Nya says "Good evening. Ista's duty to Benden."

R'val slides down from Vidarth's back and lands in a crouch.

R'val jumps to his feet and makes his way over to the others.

Kassima climbs up to a seat on Lysseth's foreleg, saluting P'tran and Nya
both. "G'deve, sir, ma'am," she says with a faint smile, gaze already
wandering towards the Sands below.

Elynie leans against Druith, both peering down to the sands with some
curiousity.

Anise climbs down from Darieth's neck using his proferred leg for help and
lands gently on the ground.

On the sands, K'ri walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Karise turns to regard her lifemate for a moment, and without a word
spoken, Erinyth turns and ambles away.

Lemarath crouches down so that Shandra may dismount.

On the sands, Verue walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Maicia walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Siendara walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Durron walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Alejandro walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Azaela walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Ianni walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Shandra waves cheerily.

On the sands, Misharn walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Selandra walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Anise settles in on Darieth's foreleg, crossing her legs to get
comfortable.

On the sands, Anndora walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Kimber walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Karise waves, wandering in front of Erinythm sitting on a forepaw for a
good view.

On the sands, Azaela quickly mincers her feet when they hit the hot sand.

On the sands, T'quinn walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Anndora curtsies politely to Shalith as she enters, then
takes her place in the circle of Candidates.

P'tran gives a brief greeting and offers Benden's duty to the arriving
riders from the various Weyrs.

On the sands, F'ren walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Nya says "good evening, Weyrwoman. Ista's duty to Igen."

On the sands, Verue bows with a nervous salute to queen and rider.

On the sands, Durron bows nervously to Ileara and Shalith.

On the sands, Selandra offers a curtsey to Shalith and Vtanth and their
riders before making her way across the hot sands to where the others are.

On the sands, T'quinn moves towards Ileara, somewhat falteringly.

On the sands, Maicia prances slightly as she feels the heat.

On the sands, Vivian walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Ianni bows to Shalith and Vtanth, Ileara and T'quinn, and
then moves to take her place.

On the sands, Azaela bows to Shalith, then moves to her place in the semi-
circle.

On the sands, Siendara curties nearly down to the ground to Shalith and
Vtanth.

On the sands, Misharn respectfully curtsies to Shalith, and joins the
others in teh circle of Candidates.

On the sands, Kimber curtsies gracefully to Shalith and Vtanth before
taking her place.

On the sands, Siendara turns and curties equally to the dragons and the
Weyrleaders.

On the sands, Durron bows just as nervously to T'quinn and Vtanth.

Nya smiles to the Fort riders with whom se is familiar.

On the sands, K'ri moves to stand off to one side of the clutch near a
cave opening but still cose enough to see and hear everything after paying
her respects to Ileara and Shalith, then Vtanth and T'quinn, ... she
proudly watches the candidates form their semi-circle.

On the sands, Durron takes his place in the circle.

On the sands, Siendara goes over and does a small curtsy to all the riders
before heading over to the area with the other candidates.

Upon Melionth, Garia smiles at Deanne "Wasn't so bad now was it?"

On the sands, F'ren moves to stand next to Vivian.

On the sands, Selandra grins at Misharn as she falls in beside her.

Settled between Adonith's neckridges, Alyssa offers a salute to the many
riders present before quickly unbuckling herself.

On the sands, T'quinn takes his place at Ileara's side, near his own
dragon and the golden queen. He smiles at the weyrwoman briefly, and turns
his attention towards the candidates.

On the sands, Kimber scoots over a little to allow room for all of the
candidates into the semi-circle.

On the sands, Siendara stands next to Misharn and bites her lip.

Alyssa slides down the beautiful purplish blue flank of her lifemate to
come to a rest on the ground, Adonith swinging his head around to regard
her adoringly.

On the sands, Misharn grins and nervously takes Selandra's hand.

On the sands, Azaela reaches to grip the nearest hand.

On the sands, Vivian moves slowly over the sands to stand near F'ren. She
nods her head in greeting to Ileara and T'quinn before looking up at
Shalith and Vtanth. She grins openly as she watches the Candidates filing
out.

Garia waits to help Deanne down.

R'val peers out at the sands, frowning to himself, "Hmm. I don't recognize
anyone so f ar.' He grins over at Alyssa, waving her towards the Benden
contingent.

Qinan eases off of Adonith's torso and uses a proffered foreleg to assist
in making his way down.

P'tran stands quietly by his bronze Laerth, watching the hatching in
relative silence, otherwise lost in thought.

Settled between Adonith's neckridges, Liena unstraps herself the way she
saw Alyssa do it.

On the sands, Alejandro bows to the riders as he passes them, taking his
place in the circle.

On the sands, Ileara stands near Shalith where the large dragon stands
away from the Clutch. She smiles brightly at T'quinn and nods to the
Candidates.

Liena eases off of Adonith's torso and uses a proffered foreleg to assist
in making her way down.

Karise gets off her perch to meander over to Alyssa. "H'lo."

Garia waves Malia and Deanne over to some seats...

L'ton swings his leg over the neckridge in front of him and jumps lightly
to the ground.

On the sands, Vtanth settles his bulk down near his queen, whirling eyes
regarding the Candidates closely.

Shandra smiles at Nya, "Igen's to Ista as well."

On the sands, Maicia catches Azaela's hand and squeezes!

On the sands, Selandra grips Misharns hand reassuringly, and turns to
wathc the eggs.

Deanne nods and joins Malia and Garia.

Liena looks around, unashamedly curious.

Shayna slips out from between Lrisseth's neckridges, sliding carefully
down to the ground.

On the sands, Kimber looks at the candidates on either side and smiles
with a wink.

On the sands, Azaela glances at Maicia then smiles in what is apparently
reassurance.

L'ton nods to Shayna.

On the sands, Ianni stands straight. She takes a deep breath and then
looks at the egg.

Kassima hmmms? "Oh, nor do I... except for Selandra, of course." Spotting
Alyssa, she waves over to her. "Lys! And Karise, too! G'deve, both of
you...." She blinks as she realizes just how many people have arrived
while she was busily staring at the clutch and Candidates.

R'val grins over at Karise and then at Shayna, to whom he waves brightly,
'Shayna! Long time no see!"

Liena waves to Kassima.

On Belaryth, Silora gives her lifemate an affectionate pat and then
unbuckles herself, preparing to slide lightly to the ground.

Garia looks out over the sands "A fine batch of candidates this time" she
mentions.

Alyssa calls Benden's duty to the riders, then moves toward the Benden
group, grinning as the scene is very reminiscent of recent occurrences to
her. She looks at her two passengers, ascertaining that they are fine and
took no harm from the trip.

Silora jumps down Belaryth's side to the ground, as the dragon warbles a
greeting.

Shayna smiles at everyone, leaning quietly against Lrisseth's foreleg.

On the sands, Siendara looks at the eggs and smiles at Alej as he takes
his place.

On the sands, Alejandro looks at the eggs, his face creasing in a smile.

Karise nods to Kassi, for once, with bright grin. "Hey there." She
chuckles at R'val, before going back to rest on Erinyth's paw.

Liena follows Alyssa, since she doesn't know many other people. "My
thanks, Alyssa. That was wonderful!"

On the sands, Azaela picks up her feet quickly, almost to the point of
rocking back and forth. She turns her glance to the eggs.

On the sands, The capped black egg moves, just barely... or did it? Who
can really tell for it's now still again. That is, until it shifts,
leaning to one side.

On the sands, Verue just stands there in perspiring anticipation...

On the sands, Anndora shifts a little as the first egg moves.

On the sands, Selandra sways a little as she picks her feet off the sand
one by one, almost in time with the rocking eggs.

On the sands, Alejandro watches the eggs carefully, forgetting his
nervousness as his curiosity is piqued.

Meli slips smoothly down from Juliath's neck to her foreleg and to the
ground, giving her a gentle caress.

On the sands, Siendara catches her breath, and releases it...

Kassima grins at Karise, pausing to wave cheerfully to Meli and Juliath.
"Ought to be interesting to see this from the other side of things, aye?
I've been to about... hmm, this makes six Hatchings since I Impressed
Lysseth. I never get tired of them."

On the sands, Kimber glances back at the crowd, grinning when she sees
Cari, Evaine, and Leianna all in the front row. She quickly turns her
attention back to the eggs.

On the sands, Ianni straightens even further watching the black egg.

L'ton grins, "Two marks says the first is a brown."

On the sands, Maicia sucks her breath in as she sees the egg rock.

Alyssa smiles, encircling Liena's shoulders with her long arm. "It's
addictive, I warn you. I still think on my first ride astride Cerilla's
Varquith...what, four Turns ago?"

On the sands, Misharn stands lightly on her booted feet, glancing at the
rocking egg. She gives Dara and Selandra a quick smile before focusing on
the eggs.

Silora takes a quick look around, the usual hatching excitement on her
face as she backs up against Belaryth's leg, leaning back slightly. She
looks over to L'ton..."I'll go with that."

Shayna grins over at L'ton and shakes her head silently.

Karise nods, "No dragon to poke my stomach." She pets the green, who
croons blissfully. "Never did get from you why you did that."

Anise gives L'ton a smile, "No sharding marks, L'ton, lost them all at
Ista's."

On the sands, T'quinn's arms cross over his chest. Pale though he seems,
he watches the Candidates with an encouraging smile.

Liena smiles. "I know I could get used to it! Maybe one day I'll be as
lucky." She smiles, watching the Candidates below.

On the sands, Azaela knaws on her bottom lip, then licks them. She watches
the eggs silently, though her gaze does tend to glance at the other
Candidates.

On the sands, The capped black egg leans further over to the left,
balancing precariously for a few moments as it trembles, the Hatching
inside struggling to emerge. Suddenly, it swings violently to the right,
knocking into another egg with a loud *CRACK*

Garia keeps an eye on T'quinn, shaking her head slightly.

On the sands, Maicia snatches up her braid with her free hand and sticks
the tip back in her mouth.

Shandra leans back against Lemarath, looking thoughtful.

R'val's eyes alight, "Oh! Look! One's hatching.'

On the sands, Kimber catches her breath.

On the sands, Durron jumps slightly at the sudden noise.

Qinan sighs and watches.

On the sands, Anndora jumps at the crack, her gaze having wandered away
from the black egg.

On the sands, Ianni starts a little and stares at the egg.

L'ton walks over to Anise after a nod at the Brownrider from Reaches.

On the sands, Selandra leans forward craning to see what it holds.

On the sands, Verue, though already tall, stands on his booted tip-toes as
if to get a better view of the first hatchling...

On the sands, Siendara shakes her head slightly, staring at the little egg
and standing taller as she watches.

Kassima chuckles. "Dragons never explain *anything.* Or so it seems. Hey,
Meli," she calls in a louder voice, "I say the first one's blue!"

On the sands, Alejandro shifts his weight from one foot to the other,
gazing intently at whatever is coming out of the egg.

Gamina slides down Rynth's side, and steps down using her proffered
foreleg.

On the sands, Azaela lets out a small exhail as she sees the first egg
beginning to crack.

On the sands, Misharn flinches slightly as teh egg cracks, and holds her
breath in anticipation of this first hatchling.

Liena is chewing on her nails, watching anxiously.

Karise shakes her head, peering over at Kassi with a grin. "Brown."

Meli, conveniently curled up next to Juliath, grins at Kassi. "Neh, green.
Gotta go for green."

Gamina bounces down to the ground and slips through the crowd until she
ends up standing by Anise.

Deanne tries to look serene, but her eyes are wide.

Anise waves at Gamina. She moves over and gives the woman room on
Darieth's leg.

R'val grins over at Meli, sitting near Kassima, "Meli! Hey!"

Malia smiles at Deanne "Exciting, isn't it?"

R'val scoffs, "And you're both wrong. It's a blue."

Kassima chuckles. "Lysseth says green, but she *always* says green. I
still think blue. We'll see, eh?"

L'ton grins, "I'm telling you, brown.."

R'val beams at Kassi, "How can we both be wrong, neh?" He grins.

Alyssa laughs quietly at the three Benden greenriders, commenting, "You
all always bet, don't you...?" Settling down near her lifemate, she makes
room for Liena at her side and grows quiet to watch this spectacle.

Deanne nods slowly at Malia, not taking her eyes off the sands however.

On the sands, Vivian's eyes move from scanning the galleries to take in
the movement of the eggs. She nudges F'ren and grins, pointing to the huge
mound as she leans forward to speak softly with him.

Anise comments, "Blue."

Shayna grins. "Lrisseth says green."

On the sands, Ileara smiles at F'ren and absently brushes at her eye.

R'val grins at Shayna, "I'll bet she'd know better than any of us."

Shandra grins at Alyssa, "I'd bet what comes out has two wings and a
tail."

Karise chuckles, looking up as she murmurs, "Erinyth's saying green
too.....and admitting to being biased about it."

Silora threads an arm about Belaryth's neck, smile on her face, eyes glued
to the sands and eggs below. Every once in a while she takes a peek around
the ledges, but her attention is mainly there. She mutters..."Love, you
/were/ once in an egg like that. Really."

Kassima laughs. "Bet? Nay, Lys, 'tis nay for marks! Just as a guess.
Guessing at Hatchings is one of my favored games, though I'm rarely
right... got all right but bronze guesses last Fort hatching I was at,
though, amazingly enough."

Qinan glances around and blinks seeing his Cm off to one side. He sits
down next to adonith becoming nearly invisible as he turns his attention
back to the sands.

Liena looks over at the Weyrwoman, then says to Alyssa "It must almost
feel like having your own children..."

On the sands, T'quinn glances quickly at F'ren and Vivian and then smiles
at Ileara. Wan though he seems, his grin is proud. Vtanth lets out a low
noise of pride as he watches the first egg begin to crack.

Gamina perches next to Anise, "Hi! I'm late, what's happened so far?"

Alyssa beams and salutes Shandra, nodding, "Most likely an empty tummy and
a loud voice declaring it too, ma'am! And Benden's duty to you and
Lemarath."

On the sands, The capped black egg rocks back and forth violently, rolling
into this egg or that mound of sand. A crack appears on the top and a
grunt can _almost_ be heard. A bit of egg goo begins to trickle out of the
crack and down one side as the dragonet continues it's struggles.

Anise looks at Gamina, "Haven't missed anything yet. That black one's
trying to hatch."

On the sands, Azaela smiles briefly, then tears her eyes from the eggs to
look at Maicia, then glances back at the eggs.

On the sands, Ianni clenches her hands and leans forward.

On the sands, Kimber absently bites her lip as she waits for this first
egg to finally hatch.

On the sands, Maicia is staring unabashedly at the egg, eyes wide.

On the sands, F'ren grins across the sands at Ileara and winks as he
lowers his head to listen to Vivian.

On the sands, Selandra's breath comes faster as she waits, scarcely moving
now.

L'ton looks up at his lifemate, "You were overeager too. No late entrance
for you."

Kassima clenches her fists and leans forward on Lysseth's foreleg,
chanting, "Blue. Blue. Blue."

On the sands, Anndora rocks back on her heels as the black-capped egg's
inhabitant works its way free.

From Irrylath, Katany undoes the straps binding herself to Irrylath.

On the sands, Alejandro sighs quietly, silently urging the dragonet to
make its way out.

On the sands, Durron oohs at the goo.

Gamina leans forward, standing up and going on tiptoe to try to see. "Oh!
Wow, I didn't miss much. Rynth made it out like it was half over and I,
horrible lazy rider, had missed it." She rolls her eyes towards Rynth and
flashes a grin before settling back to a seat.

On the sands, Siendara smiles in anticipation and cocks her head to look
at Misharn and the rest of the candidates.

On the sands, Azaela smiles when Siendara looks her way.

Shandra smiles, "Igen's to Benden of course," she returns, waving off the
salute.

Anise snorts and settles into watch.

On the sands, F'ren grins again at Vivian's whisper and raises up on his
toes to peer at one of the eggs.

On the sands, The capped black egg suddenly stills, sitting very quietly.
Is it waiting for something?

On the sands, With a delicate shake, the Capped Black Egg collapses,
leaving the dragonet covered with pieces of shell.

Narai acrobatically jumps down off of Farrith's back. He whuffles her
softly as she reaches the ground.

On the sands, Gilded Green Hatchling:
A large young dragonet makes her very flamboyant appearance, bursting from
her shell with a flourish of her wings and tail. Like sunlight shining on
new green leaves, this dragonet is colored a strong and vibrant yellow-
green as though she were gilded by a jeweller. Her head is chiseled
angularly, with two red-whirling eyes lying deep, upon a neck that doesn't
appear quite strong enough yet to hold it, and the rest of her body as
awkward as any new hatchling. Yet as she finds her balance and sets forth
in search of the only one right for her, she moves in an unusual swaying
motion that seems to work quite well, and her voice as she calls out to
those around her is a surprisingly deep and gentle coo.

Miritha slides down Farlioth's leg to his bent knee, and drops to the
ground.

On the sands, Misharn grins excitedly, as the first hatchling is about to
emerge. She flashes a smile at Siendara, and peers intently at the newly
arrived dragonet.

Meli grins. "Green" she says quietly.

Liena smiles. "Kassi, looks like Lysseth was right!"

P'tran glances over to Shandra with a hmm?, having been lost in thought.
"Of course. And Benden's to Igen as well."

Shayna chuckles. "Lrisseth will be smug for days, now."

R'val grins, "Shards! I was so certain."

Silora wrinkles her small nose as a green is the first to hatch, but
smiles nevertheless at the beauty of the dragonet. "Ah. Green."

Alyssa giggles at the Benden betting trio. "Green indeed. And Shandra was
right. Two wings and a tail."

R'val winks at Shayna, 'I shall have to listen more closely to you."

On the sands, Anndora grins at the green.

On the sands, Azaela gasps softly, then smiles brightly when she sees the
first dragon arrive. She continues to shift from foot to foot.

On the sands, Kimber gets a smile of relief on her face as the green
arrives.

L'ton says "Off by more than a bit, I was."

On the sands, Ianni ohs softly and gives a big smile.

Garia cheers "A green!"

On the sands, Siendara's eyes widen at the sight of the green dragonet and
her attention is riveted to the dragonet.

On the sands, F'ren settles back down onto his heels and smiles. "The
first."

On the sands, Verue fights a facial war between smile and petrified
tremble as he watches the green hatchling move across the sands.

On the sands, Alejandro grins broadly at the goldengreen dragonet, tilting
his head to one side as he peers at her.

On the sands, Selandra smiles as the stunning green emerges onto the
sands. Grinning she glances round at the others wondering which she'll
make a move towards.

On the sands, Durron smiles widley at the first hatchling.

Shandra chuckles and gives Alyssa a small salute, "I couldn't ask for
anything more."

Cirdanth settles, already leaning in to purr-croon toward the hatchlings,
eyes awhirl.

Kassima clicks her tongue. "Ach, Lyss, so you're *always* right. And I'm
*always* wrong. I know, I know." She rolls her eyes, but looks mostly
amused. "Lovely lass indeed, that one!"

Vyren takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers hisself to the
ground.

Miritha tumbles off Farlioth's neck in her usual head-over-heels fashion,
hitting the ground with her knees flexing to keep her standing. She smiles
around at everyone impartially, though her eyes do light up a little when
she sees certain people.

On the sands, Shalith bugles encouragingly at her young daughter.

On the sands, Maicia gasps and glances quickly at Azaela, whose hand she
grips white-knuckled. She holds herself very still, except for her feet
which alternate lifting off the ground away from the hot sands. Her eyes
are glued on the dragonet.

Karise leans back against Erinyth, a soft smile on her lips. With an
affectionate pat, she leans forward, trying to get a better view.

Narai leans against her dragon, eyes finding Katany.

On the sands, Vivian wets her lips as she grins, watching the hatchling
and the response of the Candidates.

On the sands, K'ri smiles at the newest Fortian green! "Just lovely!"

Vyren leaps impatiently from Cirdanth's back to the ledge, his eyes wide,
"Shards, Shala, a dragonledge? Thought you'd take us to the galleries!" He
beams as he makes his way towards the edge, for the best possible view.

On the sands, The pale amethyst egg suddenly titls to the side and rolls
slowly.

On the sands, Ianni looks up at the gold and laughs. "You should be
proud!"

Seated astride Cirdanth, Kershala chuckles at Vyren, still perched high up
for a very good view indeed. "He can't land there well."

On the sands, Siendara pulls on Misharn's sleeve gently and points to the
rocking egg.

On the sands, The pale amethyst egg halts, rolls back and shakes.

On the sands, Selandra casts a glance towards the purple egg, before
bringing her gaze back to the green.

Meli lifts a brow. 'Hey, Kassi... that other one... think it's a brown?'
as she indicates the amethyst egg with a flick of her hand.

On the sands, Gilded Green Hatchling stops in her tracks and stands there,
swaying slightly from side to side as she regards the white clad figures.
She holds out her wings, streching them wide just before she lets out a
tiny little *bugle*. Isn't she glorious? You may all admire me now, but
only for a moment as she quickly folds her wings and sways forward,
stopping in front of Vivian. She eyes the Weyrwoman curiously for a
moment.

On the sands, Anndora lets her eyes drift towards the amethyst egg.

Lysseth trumpets a bright greeting to the young green as Kassi shakes her
head. "The *next* one will be blue," she says with conviction. Then she
notices Shala and 'Danth, and waves to the pair. "Shala, heyla!"

On the sands, Kimber glances over as she sees the next egg begin.

On the sands, Alejandro's glance flickers to the egg that just moved, then
back to the green, watching her with something akin to bemusement.

Mairsgreth takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers herself to
the ground.

Seated astride Cirdanth, Janick says "Oh did we miss the first egg?"

Seated astride Cirdanth, Kershala whistles a greeting, piercing over the
noise of the crowd. "Heyla, Kassi!" 'Danth's bugle nearly dwarfs her as he
leans to nose Lysseth.

Seated astride Cirdanth, Nialla undoes her straps as best she can, looking
around at the assembled with wide eyes before following Mairsgreth.

On the sands, T'quinn smiles in satisfaction and murmurs softly, leaning
against Vtanth for a moment, "Lovely little one!" He beams up at his
smugly rumbling bronze.

On the sands, Azaela smiles as she keeps an eye on the green but also
tries to watch the other eggs.

On the sands, Misharn gives Selandra's hand a quick squeeze and loosens
her grip a bit, while nodding at Siendara. She fixes her gazze on the
resplendent green.

Seated astride Cirdanth, Larissa unbuckles the flying straps holding her
in.

Nialla takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers herself to the
ground.

On the sands, Ianni turns back to look at the eggs and the hatchling. Her
face is in a wide grin.

Miritha suddenly winces, and turns around to poke Farlioth in the leg. He
leaps upwards after an amused snort at her.

Farlioth launches off the ledge, banking through the aerial entrance to
the Bowl.

On the sands, Siendara smiles happily at the egg and hatchling, her eyes
gleaming.

Katany takes advantage of the distraction to make do with a general
greeting, finding someplace to sit near Shandra, saving a space for Narai.

Mairsgreth walks ovre to the edge, wide eyed. "Wow..."

Larissa takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers herself to the
ground.

Seated astride Cirdanth, Janick unstraps and thanks you for the ride and
pats Cirdanths hide

Janick takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers hisself to the
ground.

Kassima shakes her head. "Blue," she repeats firmly. "Has t'be blue...
aiyee, 'Danth! Careful where I'm sitting!" She clings to Lysseth's foreleg
as her green lifemate whuffles Cirdanth affectionately.

On the sands, Azaela briefly shakes Maicia's hand to release it. She wipes
it on her robe, then resumes holding Maicia's ahnd.

R'val glances at kassima and grins, "Perhaps we should listen to our
dragons."

Narai pokes through the crowd to sit next to Katany. "Bet the next one is
nothing like it."

On the sands, The pale amethyst egg cracks begins to show. One widens
quickly, then the egg stills.

Cirdanth snorts apologetically. Shala sighs at him. "He says brown,
without a doubt. But he always says that."

Keriann takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers herself to the
ground.

R'val grins towards Cirdanth, 'He's biased, as are we all."

Cirdanth noses Keriann farewell, settling to let Shala off.

Janick siddles up to Larissa nervously never having been to a egg-hatching

Katany asks Shandra, "Have their been any Impressions?"

Nialla backs up towards the wall of the ledge "Thank you so much rider
Kershala, Cirdanth," she says quietly.

On the sands, Gilded Green Hatchling finds nothing too interesting with
the Weyrwoman. She *snorts* delicately, if that's possible and moves on. A
few wobbly steps find her face to snout with Verue. Hmmmmm.... She
snuffles him in the chest curiously.

Deirdre slides down Farlioth's leg to his bent knee, and drops to the
ground.

Miritha turns back from watching the Sands as her brown comes back to the
ledges, another rider aboard. Her face takes on a woeful, apologetic
grimace as she holds her hands up to Deirdre.

On the sands, Siendara smiles at the egg and looks to see what the egg
holds.

On the sands, Kimber holds her breath, watching the green go up to Verue.

Shandra says "Well... not that I've seen so I believe not. We weren't that
far ahead of you and Irrylath though."

Kershala takes a good grip on Cirdanth's straps and lowers herself to the
ground.

On the sands, Ianni looks at the green snurfling Verue and laughs.

Keriann grins at Cirdanth, patting him gratefully, then turns, quietly
murmuring duties to everyone even though her eyes are fixed on the sands.

On the sands, Azaela grins as she watches the green, her face showing
antisapation.

Kershala leaps down and heads over ot seat herself by Kassi, almost as
fixated on the sands as her dragon.

On the sands, Misharn grins excitedly at Verue, and casts a quck glance
over the other eggs.

On the sands, Verue gulps and stands very still, leaning only his head
back as he musters a grin. "Umm...."

On the sands, Siendara smiles widely at Verue and the hatchling, her eyes
twinkling merrily.

Deirdre gives Farlioth an annoyed glare before picking her way across the
crowd. "*Miri*. You didn't wake me up -- I come all the way up from Honshu
and you'd let me sleep through the Hatching?"

On the sands, Vivian eyes the little green with amusement and curiousity
as she watches it search for it's lifemate.

Mairsgreth blinks and looks around, moving to stand next to the other
Apprentrices, then turns back to watch.

On the sands, Anndora steals at glance at the green and Verue, then looks
back at the amethyst egg.

On the sands, Gilded Green Hatchling seems to sigh. No, not the one. She
moves on to a group of girls and croons curiously, cocking her head
sweetly as she regards Kimber and Azaela. They're both pretty. Is one of
them "the one"? Hmmmmm, maybe.....

Nya smiles to Katany. "Hello, how's Irrylath?"

Kassima grins at Shala. "So Cirdanth says the purple-hued one is brown,
eh?" She gestures vaguely towards the amethyst egg. "I say blue. Lyss says
brown. Maybe I'll beat her this time at a guess, for once!"

Nialla nearly bumps into Deirdre and flushes bright red. "My apologies,
rider."

Alyssa leans forward and espies Azaela below. "I didn't know Fort had
Searched her!!! Oh, I wish her luck."

On the sands, Kimber squeeze Azaela's hand as she inspects the two of
them.

On the sands, Durron finally starts to feel the heat of the sands through
his thick soled sandals and shifts his feet a bit.

Kershala shakes her head. "He says the NEXT one will be brown."

Meli says "Brown" laconically, lounging against her green.

On the sands, Ianni smiles and shrugs at Verue and watches the green with
Kimber and Azaela.

R'val grins down at the Sands, "Azaela..." he turns curiouslyt Alyssa,
'One of ours, last time, no?"

On the sands, Azaela fidgets when those eyes look at her.

On the sands, Verue takes a few head-tipping pants, then lets out a
"whew!" and grins big, watching the green go with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Aw..."

Miritha gives Deirdre a sickly smile. "You were *tired*, love. I knew
you'd wake up, but Ileara would absolutely kill me if I missed any of
Shalith's clutch Impressing, after all the tricks Reckless has pulled in
the Grounds this laying."

Alyssa nods to R'val, smiling. "Yes, indeed."

Qinan oohs and hopes for kimber.

On the sands, Misharn smiles gently at the picky green, and winks
encouragingly at Verue.

From Lunarth's neck, Janelle unbuckles herself from the straps.

Kershala suddenly pauses, then whistles in approval. "Misharn! I didn't
know they'd gotten Misharn..."

Janelle slides down the last few meters and gives her blue a *look*, as
she says "Don't even *think* about it!"

Seated on Lunarth's neck, Aisha unstraps herself, and closes her eyes.

Aisha slides down Lunarth's side, landing safely on the ground.

R'val grins, "WEll, good luck to her then.' He murmurs, turning his
attention back.

On the sands, Siendara moves slightly, rubbing her hands against her robe
and looking at the green dragonet.

On the sands, Anndora shifts her weight onto her toes before her heels
char, stealing another glance at the green.

On the sands, Azaela grips Kimber's hand with her free hand.

Kassima nods to R'val, though the question wasn't addressed to her. "Aye,
I was along when Prefeth Searched her for ours. A shame Aph couldn't be
here to see how she does this time."

Lunarth whuffles Aisha.

On the sands, Verue doesn't seem so nervous anymore - he's grinning full-
on now! Waiting for the next to hatch.

Aisha opens her eyes slowly and looks around, then blinks a bit as Lunarth
whuffles her.

On the sands, Alejandro once again turns his attention to the cracking
egg, remaining focused on it.

Malia yells over to Qinan "Isn't Kimber Leianna's sister?"

On the sands, The pale amethyst egg the crack widens with a *Pop* as the
egg shudders once again.

Deirdre rebalances, nodding to Nialla. "S'fine, just don't fall off the
edge or anything. I'd never regain my reputation." She backs up a half-
step, then makes it the rest of the way to sit by Miritha. "Mmm. You
always have an excuse. S'good thing you sent Farli back for me."

On the sands, Selandra seems to dance a little as she raises her feet from
the sands. and quietly watches the green, her breath held while she waits
to see who she'll choose.

Janelle looks around, notices two people, and bounds over to hug Deirdre
and Miritha.

P'tran turns his head slightly. "Yes, she was one we Searched last time,"
he comments. "I'll be interested to see if the Fort hatchlings take more
of an interest in her than ours did."

Janick gasps as he hears the dragon egg pop and waits with baited breath
to see what it is

On the sands, Anndora looks quickly back at the amethyst egg as it pops.

Katany returns Nya's smile with one of her own. "Quite well, thank you.
And Genneth?"

On the sands, Gilded Green Hatchling snuffles one, then the other, then
turns her head as if she's heard something. What was that? Over there? She
moves away from the girls to yet another, snuffling and shuffling across
the small distance until she stands in front of Ianni. She stretches her
long neck out and looks at the girl. After a moment, she nudges her in the
stomach. *snort*

On the sands, Siendara's eyes snap from the other candidates and the
little green dragonet to the egg as it cracks.

Qinan looks over to malia and nods!!

Deirdre hugs Janelle. "Hi, you."

Miritha fends Janelle's bounding off so she doesn't fall over the edge,
since she and Deirdre are by now sitting on the edge, legs dangling over.
Then, she hugs the bluerider with one arm, and looks around at Deirdre.
"Well, Farli reminded me Kolith was asleep. I couldn't hardly not."

Nialla clears her throat, "Thanks, no, I won't." She finds a seat near the
wall of the grounds and sits down quickly, only then looking towards the
sands. Her blush fades as she forgets her embarassment in the interest of
the proceedings below.

Nya waves to Janelle and then turns to Katany. In a guarded voice she says
"She's well."

On the sands, Kimber's eyes flick to the amethyst eggs as it cracks, but
the rest of her attention is on the green. She finally remembers to let go
of her breath as the green moves on.

On the sands, K'ri watches the green, following her movements with her
eyes and she smiles

R'val grins at P'tran, "It's possible sir." He gazes back at the sands and
comments, "Oh look! That green appears to have chosen."

On the sands, Ianni says "Yes?" She smiles at her. "Can I help you?"

Kassima inclines her head. "Well, as the saying goes, sir... if your
lifemate's nay on the Grounds the first time, then the second time may be
the charm. Or third, or fourth...." She shrugs, smiling. "There's nay any
way to know."

On the sands, Anndora grins at Ianni as the green stops in front of her.

Deanne takes her eyes off the sands for a moment to look around for people
she knows. She spots Qinan and smiles, but unconsciously moves closer to
Malia when she sees noone else.

On the sands, The pale amethyst egg hair line cracks radiate outward, then
stop as if the egg were reating before another attempt.

On the sands, Alejandro shifts to stand on one foot, his gaze still intent
on the amethyst colored egg,

On the sands, Maicia stares at the greenQUIT

Aisha smiles and waves to R'val, P'tran and Nya.

Qinan sighs as the green moves off. He peers down to see whom shes chosen.

On the sands, Azaela glances over at the pale purple egg briefly then back
at the green.

L'ton watches carefully, the green with Ianni on the sands below. "Come
on.."

R'val spots Aisha, and smiles quickly towards her.

P'tran nods and grins slightly at Kassima, then catches Aisha from the
corner of his eye and smiles a bit more naturally. "Hello, Aisha. Long
time, no see."

Deirdre leans forward, looking down at the sands. "Is that Anndora down
there, Mir?"

Malia pats Deanne on the arm, her eyes never leaving the sands.

On the sands, Misharn shifts nervously on her feet, and laughs behind a
hand at Ianni's response to the green's inspection.

On the sands, Siendara smiles widely, looking over at Ianni and moving her
head from side to side to take in the amethyst egg and the green dragonet.

On the sands, Selandra grins broadly as the green chooses Ianni, and she
can't get the silly grin off her face as she turns to watch the rest of
the eggs.

Alyssa lifts her still-gloved hand in greeting to Aisha before returning
her attention to the sands,

On the sands, Kimber smiles after the pretty green and looks over at the
other egg more closely.

On the sands, Ianni smiles at the green and looks up. "Her name is
Issanth!"

On the sands, The Pale Amethyst Egg shakes and jiggles, toppling from its
upright position. As it rolls off to its side, it shatters into glistening
shards and a green hatchling is unceremoniously dumped onto the sands.

Liena smiles, her eyes wet.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling:
This hatchling seems to shimmer with an inner light, even now as she is on
the sands. Her hide is, overall, the brilliant emerald of spring's new
leaves, and seems to ripple as if in a breeze as she takes her first few
tentative movements. Her head is slender and shows some promise of
eventual lithe grace, that is unfortunately somewhat lost in her
ungainliness at the moment. When she spreads out her wingsails, they are
nearly translucent, and the emerald slowly fades to cream until her
wingtips, which are just barely colored at all. She is, perhaps, small for
a green, but even now as she takes her first wobbly steps she seems to
quickly understand the delicacy that she will grow into.

Neith vanes her sails high, backwinging to a landing with a modicum of
fuss and stirred dust, crooning soft greetings to those nearby.

L'ton laughs, "YES!"

On the sands, Durron grins congratulations to Ianni.

On the sands, Verue, successfully fighting down his nervousness now that
he has seen his first hatchling up close, watches happily as the next one
arrives into the world.

On the sands, Anndora beams at Ianni, then looks back at the former
occupant of the amethyst egg.

Meli chuckles. "Well, if I'm goin' t'be wrong, I'd rather have it be
w'another green."

Shandra catches Deirdre's comment and narrows her eyes to look down on the
sands, sighing as she can't make out any individuals, "Now that makes me
feel old if it is." She smiles at the Impression, however.

Larissa catches her breath as one green hatchling chooses a life mate,
almost at the same time that another one hatches.

L'ton turns around and gives his lifemate a thump on the shoulder, "There
ya go. You can quit bugging me know."

Miritha leans out a little, too, ignoring the dragons-lengths drop to the
sands to nod. "Sure looks like. I _thought_ she would be out there. Hello,
that's Ianni."

Shayna grins with satisfaction at Ianni.

On the sands, Ileara calls out, "Congratulations Ianni and Issanth!"

On the sands, T'quinn leaves the sands, walking up the stairs to the
galleries.

Garia cheers "Ianni! A good choice!!'

Silora looks up as she spies Neith, waving madly at her sister and hoping
to be seen in all the bustle. "Merri!"

Katany examines Genneth for a long moment, then looks back at Nya. Her
voice is very calm, very gentle. "She looks well. You take quite good care
of her, it seems."

Merellia descends to the ground from Neith's neckridges by the aid of a
considerately extended foreleg, hands finding holds in the straps.

On the sands, Ianni laughs and wraps her arms around the hatchlings neck.
She speaks softly to her.

Aisha smiles back at P'tran. "Aye, too long. I should pay you and Jehrina
a visit."

On the sands, K'ri smiles and watches the new pair,...she motions for
Ianni to come to her with her new lifemate...

On the sands, Siendara smiles at Ianni and her eyes gleam, and she nods at
Ianni, before turning her attention to the eggs and new hatchling.

From Keth's neck, G'rel unbuckles withough much hurry, although most of
his attention is given to the Sands.

On the sands, Alejandro gives Ianna a grin, then looks at the newest
green, his grin softening to a smile as he does.

G'rel dismounts from Keth, sliding down the bronze's neck.

Alyssa applauds the Impression and calls out, "Felicitations!" even though
she knows the new weyrling has ears only for her lifemate. Then, with a
grin, she waves cheerfully at Merellia and to Neith.

On the sands, Kimber gets a big grin on her face as she watches the
Impression.

Kassima beams. "Issanth, a lovely name! Ach, but so much for our guesses!"
She snaps her fingers in mock disappointment, as Lysseth trumpets a second
note of welcome. "Shush, Lyss! Won't do to deafen half the folks here with
your calling."

On the sands, Ianni moves toward K'ri, keeping her hand on Issanth.

On the sands, Misharn grins, "Congratulations, Ianni," before turning her
atention to the shattered amethyst egg and it's former occupant.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling nose lifts into the air to *warble*
softly as she looks around.

On the sands, Azaela grins brightly at the Impression, then glances over
when she sees the other egg finally cracked.

P'tran grins at Aisha. "well, you're always welcome, you know that," he
comments, still keeping one eye on the sands.

On the sands, Rhyana rolls over and curls up next to Kessith, her head
nestled near one of his front legs.

On the sands, Vivian smiles happily and nods as the green makes her
choice.

Shayna climbs up carefully, using Lrisseth's proffered foreleg, and
settles herself between her neckridges.

Shandra sniffs, "Stealing my Headwoman away with Ladonyth egg-heavy,
really P'tran. " She winks.

On the sands, K'ri disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Narai looks down. "See? Nothing the same, except the color." Narai's eyes
find a few more eggs. "And a more diverse group of candidates.."

Deirdre twists around to grin at Shandra. "You're not the only one, Shan,
believe me." And back, down at the sounds. "How old is she? She can't be
more than -- fourteen? Please, not more than fourteen."

Alyssa also salutes G'rel and calls Benden's duty, quietly, to the Istan
Weyrleader.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling coiling her tail about her, she
settles for a monent and then leaps forward, wings outspread as she lands.

From Lrisseth's golden neckridges, Shayna waves as she leaves for a few
monws[~r!/Eents.

Kershala grins. "So you're not *always* right, 'Danth. So what?"

On the sands, Selandra smiles, watching the little spring-green.

On the sands, T'quinn walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

Lrisseth launches off the ledge, banking through the aerial entrance to
the Bowl.

Shandra chuckles, "I don't think I want to know the specifics, Dei."

On the sands, Anndora chuckles at the little green's leap.

On the sands, The teal green egg shifts a little, slowly, spinning on the
sand.

Kassima grins at Shala. "Neither is Lysseth, apparently, and I'm a bit
surprised she's nay more upset about that."

On the sands, Misharn tenses as the spring green jumps, ready to dodge if
necessary.

Nya politely greets the Istan Weyrleader and the other Istan weyrwoman.

On the sands, Siendara looks around at the other candidates and up into
the stands briefly, before turning her full attention to the eggs and
hatchling.

On the sands, Ianni disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Kimber relaxes a bit now that the first Impression is done.
She smiles at those near her and watches the green and the other eggs.

On the sands, Azaela laughs softly, though it sounds nothing more than a
soft exhale.

On the sands, Verue follows the hatchling's motions with his eyes, his
head; observing her every motion with a jubilant curiosity.

On the sands, Alejandro blinks at the green as she leaps, shaking his head
and chuckling.

Miritha gives Deirdre a grimace. "I don't remember, really. Too young,
however old she is."

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling saphire eyes turn towards the white
robed candidates, then blinks as a group of girls seems to draw her
attention.

Anise looks around at everyone, waving at those she knows and smiling at
those she doesn't.

On the sands, Siendara looks at newest egg and bites her lip...

On the sands, Issanth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

P'tran hmms? at Shandra and then chuckles. "I'd promise to keep the Search
dragons away from her," he replies.

Aisha blushes faintly at Shandra's comment. "Just a quick visit before she
clutches. I'll never leave the Weyr after that until the eggs hatch."

Katany looks over towards Merellia and G'rel, nodding to both of them.

Nya waves to Anise.

On the sands, Maicia squeezes Azaela's hand as the next green Hatches. Her
mouth opens a little and the end of her braid slips out.l

On the sands, K'ri emerges from a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, The teal green egg spins again, this time a little faster.

On the sands, Azaela grins when she turns to Maicia, then back to the
green and the other eggs.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling stepping confidently forward, she
tips and umphs on to her nose with a confused look before righting herself
with a chirp.

On the sands, K'ri smiles as she returns to watch the second green choose
her mate....

On the sands, Kimber shifts her feet some, the heat from the sands coming
through her sandals.

On the sands, Misharn quickly checks the eggs, and watches the hatchling
with a smile.

G'rel returns the greetings with silent nods, giving also a smile to
Katany (but he remains close to his dragon). Then turns his attention to
the sands.

Shandra looks horrified, "You'd better, Weyrleader." Then she grins at
Aisha. "Well, in that case I suppose. It will fortify you for the work I
have planned."

On the sands, Siendara looks at Misharn and smiles widely as she shifts
from foot to foot a bit.

On the sands, Selandra grins at Misharn, squeezing her hand gently.

On the sands, Anndora glances at the teal egg before looking back at the
little green.

Genneth examines Katany closely, then whuffs. Nya nods to Katany's
comment.

On the sands, T'quinn watches the latest green with a broad smile,
unmarred by his pale complexion and slightly wobbly stance.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling rustles her wings, tail thrashing as
a second punce takes her nearer the group of girls.

On the sands, Alejandro grins at the antics of the green, his gaze only
flickering briefly to the spinning egg.

Deirdre leans a little against Miritha. "Fourteen isn't too young to
Impress -- Janelle was younger than that, I think."

Aisha ducks her head towards Shandra though she grins irrepressibly.
"Thank you, Weyrwoman." she says sounding rather like a child being
allowed to go out and play.

Nialla watches the riders and eggs alternately, chewing on her lip as if
attempting to preserve every moment in her memory.

On the sands, Kimber almost steps back as the green gets close to their
group.

On the sands, Azaela giggles softly.

Silora leans nearly over the edge, watching the little green with
curiosity, before turning back and waving to her sister again, leaning
around Belaryth's large foreleg and nodding to G'rel as well.

On the sands, Durron's head roves back and forth as he tries to look at
the gallery, the Candidates, the hatchling, and the eggs all at the same
time.

Janelle yups at Deirdre.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling settling into a more stately gate,
her tail lifts high as she passes the first white robed woman, only
stopping briefly.

On the sands, Misharn stiffens nervously, giving the green a wary look.
She grin tensely at Selandra and Siendara.

Aisha chuckles. "I'm getting too old anyway, P'tran."

On the sands, Selandra watches carefully, ready to move out of the way
should the green want to rush past.

Cirdanth settles his head by Shala, crooning.

Shandra grins, the nuance clearly not lost, and rather irreverently pulls
a small flask from her jacket and sips at it.

Miritha wraps her arm around Deirdre's waist, legs kicking idly agains
tthe cliff. "Deirdre," she says mournfully, "you and I have been riders
longer than most of those down there have been alive."

On the sands, With a sudden burst of energy, a dark amber colored egg
shatter into pieces dropping a handsome blue dragonet onto the sands.
Lifting his still damp wings, he lifts his head and creels loudly before
begining his search for a lifemate. A small girl from Fort Sea Hold
catches her breath as he pauses before her and croons. "Oh! His name is
Lamorth ", she cries as she flings her arms around his neck.

R'val chuckles, "Lots of greens, so far..'He comments quietly to Kassima.

Merellia exchanges and gives greetings as she dismounts, smiling to Nya
before she works her way past Neith over towards the waving hand that's
caught her attention. Ending by Silora, she waves to Katany then murmurs a
question to her sister, attention shifting to the hatchings on the sands
below.

On the sands, Siendara takes a lock of hair from behind her ear and twists
it around her finger, as she stares at the hatchling.

P'tran smiles slightly at Aisha and shrugs. "well, in either case, you're
always welcome at Benden when you have a moment free."

On the sands, Azaela picks her feet up again as she watches, then glances
over at the blue when he picks his mate and grins.

Aisha smiles and waves cheerily to G'rel and Merellia.

Adonith seems to croon in approving agreement to R'val's observation,
making Alyssa roll her eyes.

Kassima smiles. "Indeed. A mark of quite the fine clutch, in my admittedly
biased opinion... ah-*ha*! There's the blue! Knew there was one coming."

On the sands, The teal green egg slowly spins to a halt, and tries rocking
back and forth, tentatively.

Janick says "Wow energetic little hatchling"

R'val laughs, "Biased, inde..oh! A blue!" He glances ratply at the sands.

On the sands, Kimber stands up straight and tall, watching the green and
the other eggs.

On the sands, Maicia releses the tight pressure on Azaela's hand as she
smiles at the acrobats the green is completeing. Her head snaps around as
the blue as he picks his lifemate so quickly.

Silora smiles, standing up to give her sister a quick hug before turning
her eyes again to the sands. "Three hatched, now, I think, and we're just
fine. How's Liaryn?"

Deirdre says "We're living proof that it's possible to beat the odds. Mmm.
Maybe Anndora will Impress a brown -- that might suit her."

On the sands, Selandra's eyes are caught by a flurry of movement across
the sands and she smiles as she watched the fort holder impress.

On the sands, Durron grins at the girl and focuses on the eggs to keep
from getting dizzy.

On the sands, Alejandro turns his attention to the teal egg as it stops
spinning, watching it with a slightly puzzled expression.

On the sands, Siendara smiles and nods at the girl, turning her attention
back to the teal egg.

On the sands, Misharn blinks in some astonishment at the quick impression
of the blue, and looks at the green hatchling again.

Aisha gives Shandra a mock fearful look then stage whispers to P'tran.
"I'll do my best to get away for a bit. Things are rather busy."

Kassima grins at Alyssa. "I take it he's happy about the ratio of greens
so far?" she asks, nodding up at Adonith.

Lunarth croons at the blue. About time.

Miritha laughs, glancing down at the Sands again. "Anndora? No, I think
she'd Impress a green."

On the sands, Anndora grins at the little green as she passes by.

On the sands, Azaela frees a hand again to wipe her brow then goes back
hand hands.

On the sands, The teal green egg rocks a little to the left, a little to
the right, and hops up into the air just a fingersbreadth. When it lands,
a faint cracking sound can be heard.

Alyssa blushes a bit but nods to Kassima. "Yes, ma'am...I daresay he'd
like Pern covered in greens to fly and talk to and golds to admire..."

Kassima states, "The next one is brown," with absolutely no doubt in her
voice. Of course, there was none the times she guessed *wrong*,
either.... "And nay, Lyss, I *don't* think 'twill be another green,
whether you do or nay."

On the sands, Alejandro's head follows the motions of the egg: left,
right, then up. He blinks as it cracks, then leans forward slightly in
anticipation of the dragonet.

On the sands, Kimber glances over at the teal egg.

R'val snorts quietly, 'So you say Kassi. I'm banking on a green."

On the sands, Siendara's eyes widen and Dara blinks at the teal egg,
twirling her finger rapidly in the strand of hair.

Kershala grins at Kassi. "Yeah. Got to be."

Liena grins. "ANOTHER one, R'val?"

Deirdre frowns, and looks over at Miritha. "I don't think that's actually
true -- it's only been..." She trails off, counting, and by the end of it
grimaces. "Nevermind."

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling sniffs as if dissatisfied to move on
to stand transfixed for a moment before a woman from Nabol.

P'tran nods to Aisha and grins. "That would be good. I'll tell Jehrina,
she'd love for you to visit as well."

Keriann looks away from the sands long enough to glance around the ledges,
nodding respectfully and offering quiet duties to those she hadn't yet,
even though she knows it's unlikely they will hear her. She looks back at
the sands as movement catches her eye again.

R'val grins at Liena, "Lots of em, 'I'm betting!"

Kassima chuckles. "I daresay he's nay the only blue who feels that way,
Lys...." She stares at the spring green, squinting. "Is she heading for
Sela? I can't quite see."

On the sands, Azaela yanks on Maicia's hand then motions over to the teal
green egg with her head to bring attentino to it.

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling saphire eyes whirl faster, as a
gentle croon issues from her throat.

Liena grins back. "You're HOPING, you mean!"

On the sands, Selandra stands almost as transfixed, breath caught.

R'val peers over the rim of the ledge, "Maybe, Kassi. I can't see.' He
bites his lip.

On the sands, Vivian watches with anticipation as the green makes her
choice.

On the sands, Kimber watches the green closely.

On the sands, The teal green egg hops again, and cracks begin to spread
across the shell, as it begins to rock a little more energetically.

On the sands, Anndora nods to herself, and looks away from the green
toward the teal egg.

On the sands, Maicia's eyes move from the hopping egg to the possibly
Impressing green.

Aisha grins. "Well, I hope she's not too busy to see me. I always seem to
come right when she's really tied up. Seemes to be a knack."

Kershala holds her breath, watching with a grin.

Miritha gives Deirdre a grin, eyes crinkling up a little. "See? It hit me
a while ago."

On the sands, The Teal Green Egg rocks rapidly back and forth before
settling back into its depression in the sand. After a few moments elapse,
the egg shatters, sand grains tumbling outward from its base as a blue
hatchling emerges from the fragements of shell."

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling:
From the moment this dragonet hatches he is obviously one of a kind,
delightfully different from all his other clutchmates. Most readily
apparent is his vibrant hide of a clear royal blue, a color so achingly
beautiful and deeply fathomless in it's purity that it mesmerises the eye
in a reassuring and soothing way. The royal blue blends mysteriously into
ink shadows along his undersides, under his neck and below his wings which
enhances rather than disguises his sleekness. As this dragonet waddles
away from his egg's shards it is easier to see that he is not really very
sleek at all, rather he is unusually long. From prominent muzzle to his
proportionately long tail, he inches ahead of the other hatchlings around
him.

On the sands, Siendara's right hand clutches the side of her robe as she
looks at Misharn and over to the other candidates.

On the sands, Verue rubs the back of his head with tickled amazement as
the new hatchling makes his way across the sands. He chuckles. "Wow," he
says and looks at all the other eggs on the sands yet to hatch with yet
another, "Oh, wow."

On the sands, Misharn smiles at the Nabol woma. Shifting nervously again,
she peers at the other eggs wit sigh.

Kershala laughs and winks at R'val. "You guess well!"

R'val drats, "I guessed wrong." He murmurs.

Deirdre murmurs something to Miritha, laughing.

R'val blinks at Shala, "I did?" He peers, "Oh! So I did!" He grins.

Garia lets out a long sigh "How beautiful..."

Kershala blinks. "Didn't you say... blue?"

On the sands, Anndora smiles broadly at the blue.

Liena looks at the blue. "Isn't he LOVELY?"

P'tran nods to Aisha. "She does seem to be busy these days, I know."

Kershala says "APH!"

On the sands, Spring Green Hatchling blinks as her eyes lock on the face
of the woman.

On the sands, A soft Oh! escapes from Kimber as she sees the blue hatch.

On the sands, Durron admires the deep blue color on the newest hatchling.

Deirdre mutters to Miritha, "... _Turns_.... I... thinking... it...
Impressed before you did...."

Merellia's mouth curls upwards at a corner, "Liaryn's fine," she responds
to her sister. "She's just found out how to bounce, and splits her time
doing that and making noise with the nearest rattling thing." At the
blue's hatching, she draws in a breath. "Striking coloration."

Aphrael climbs down from Prefeth's neckridges with practised ease,
reaching up to give her lifemate a thankful scritch as the blue dragon
crooons.

Belaryth pulls his head down near his riders, and croons a confused note.
Silora giggles quietly, nodding. "Soon, there'll be a brown, I promise
you."

Janick says "Wow what a lovely shade of blue"

Aphrael grins and waves. "Hiya Shala!"

P'tran glances back to the sands again.

L'ton looks up with a laugh as Aph and Prefeth arrive, "Hiya, Aphrael!"

On the sands, Siendara blinks at the blue hatchling and she rocks from
side to side, letting go of her robe with her right hand.

Kershala says "APHRAEL!" Shala leaps up and hugs the bluerider with a
grin. "You're here!"

Kassima groans. "Wrong *again*, both of us! You've jinxed me, Lyss!" She
leans back on the forelimb, then waves to Aphrael with a broad grin. "Aph!
Ach, you're just in the nick of time--c'mon over, sit! You've nay missed
too much; a blue and a green Impressed, and a brown'll be next to hatch,
mark my words...."

On the sands, K'ri smiles and looks very happy as the woman from Nabol
finds a mate!!

On the sands, Alejandro gasps a little at the beautiful blue, his smile
rather admiring.

R'val grins at kassima impishly then turns to wave towards Aphrael,
'Heyla, Aph!"

On the sands, Maicia 's eyes fix on the blue and don't move again, "Oh..."
She sighs.

On the sands, Vtanth rumbles proudly, eyes whirling a vibrant shade of
blue, as his latest child hatches.

Aisha smiles. "Well, that's good in a way, I suppose. It means that the
Weyr is thriving, I think."

Aphrael waves over at L'ton with a laugh before she's hugged. "Yeah! How's
you and 'Danth?"

Katany, from time to time, makes some quiet comment to Narai. Her eyes do
not leave the sands for long.

On the sands, Siendara leans over to Misharn, looking at the blue
hatchling.

On the sands, Selandra ohs softly. "Abrieth, what a beautiful name." as
she reaches out a hand to touch thie most wonderful friend in the world,
and laughs. "Of course you are, we'll get you something to eat soon.. I
promise."

On the sands, Azaela smiles gently when she sees the blue arrive.

Aphrael bounces over to the Benden contingent and grins. "Hiya Kassi,
R'val."

Silora turns her face to her sister's when there's a moments lapse in
activity on the sands, nodding. "I suppose that rattle I had made for her
just contributes to the noise..." She tilts her head slightly. "How's
E'ryn? We really should visit more often.."

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling slowly rights himself and shakes a
little, sending a few stray bits of egg shards here and there. He settles
into the sands slightly as his legs wobble, and moves his head back and
forth as if he were still trying to free it from the shell.

On the sands, K'ri smiles and ushers the new pair over to her with a
movement of her hands, beaming proudly at them...

Meli breaks into a grin as she spots Aph, giving a quick wave before
turning back to watch the sands just in time to spot Selandra. "Aha!" she
exclaims.

On the sands, Anndora glances across the circle as Selandra Impresses, and
grins.

On the sands, Kimber cheers quietly for Selandra and her new lifemate.

Nialla ohs softly at the look on Selandra's face, her eyes sparkling.

On the sands, Durron waves to Selandra, and grins.

Kershala whistles. "Abrieth! Lovely. That'll be quite a pair."

P'tran smiles as he watches the Impressions. "Do seem to be a lot of
greens in this clutch," he says, his tone suggesting it is a compliment
rather than a problem.

L'ton grins, "Sela Impressed!"

Aphrael blinkblinks as she stares down at the sands. "Sela.. Selandra!!
And Abrieth!!"

On the sands, T'quinn's lips part in a broad smile as another Impression
takes place. He slants a proud smile at Ileara. He then conceals a quiet
cough.

On the sands, Siendara smiles at Selandra and her lifemate.

Kassima bounces excitedly on Lysseth's foreleg, looking almost like a
happy two-Turn-old. "Sela!" she whoops, raising her fist in a gesture of
triumph. "All *right*! 'Sabout time! And a green--look, Aph! Sela's a
greenrider!"

On the sands, F'ren smiles and says to Vivian, "I never tire of watching a
hatching.

On the sands, K'ri disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Nya hmms as she watches the sands.

On the sands, Maicia cheers softly as she hears Siendara's words and
realizes what has happened.

Vidarth croons! to the newest green pair.

On the sands, Alejandro looks to Selandra for a moment, his smile widening
slightly. He then turns to look at the blue again, shaking his head as he
gazes at him in admiration.

On the sands, Selandra follows K'ri from the sands, hand resting on her
new lifemate.

On the sands, Abrieth nuzzles her hand and eyes her lifemate insisting
/she/ is very hungry! Her tail lits as she half spreads her delicate
wings.

Cirdanth starts to bugle and chokes it off at a LOOK from Shala. Noisy
enough already.

L'ton grins, "That's right. A greenrider. Isn't that nice?"

Prefeth bugles happily as he peers down at the sands.

On the sands, Siendara smiles widely, She mutters to Misharn, "... blue...
beautiful?"

On the sands, Vivian smiles warmly to the two new weyrlings. She looks
over at F'ren and nods. "It's so ... ", she gives a soft sigh, struggling
for the words. "So wonderful."

On the sands, The dusty grey egg twitches a little, reshaping the small
hollow of sand it lies it, and bumping against it's nearest neighbor.

On the sands, Misharn blinks in surprise, releasing Selandra's hand with
a grin, "There you, go, Selandra. Congratulations," she says before
staring at the other eggs. She nods quickly at Dara, a huge grin on her
face.

On the sands, Abrieth following Selandra slowly, looking around.

On the sands, Anndora looks back, first at the blue, then at the grey egg,
then back towards the blue.

On the sands, Verue's eyes pass down along the blue's length, taking in
the complete hatchling, and obviously liking what he sees for the smile on
his face is widened anew.

On the sands, A rough, terracotta egg splits into pieces and a good sized
brown emerges. He tilts his head and bugles before wobbling off towards
the Candidates. A large lad from Peyton Hold cries with joy as the brown
stops and looks into his eyes. Encircling his arms around his new mate, he
lifts his head and proudly shouts, "His name is Virinth!"

On the sands, Siendara pushes the strand of hair behind one ear and looks
at the blue hatchling and the grey egg.

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling slowly pulls himself to his feet,
looking at the gathered beings. After a moment's pause, he looks up - and
up - and up - at the gold and bronze, and lets out a tentative BUGLE?

Cirdanth snorts and bugles this time, for a *brown*!

Lysseth extends her wings and trumpets happily, caught up in her rider's
excitement. "Woo-hoo!" Kassi cries again. "Sela and Abrieth! Absolutely
wonderful. Now... who's the match to that blue? And who to the brown
that'll be next to hatch? Ah! 'Twas a brown, indeed, and a handsome one.
I'm nay wrong *all* the time, after all."

On the sands, Alejandro gives a little chuckle at the blue's vocalization.

Liena looks at the blue hatchling. "How beautiful..." she sighs.

Darieth bugles in retun to the little baby blue.

On the sands, Durron chuckles, "Seems he's as nervous as we are..."

On the sands, Shalith reaches down to nudge her rider, who gives her a
resounding thump, "Wonderful children, Shalith. You did well as usual."

On the sands, Kimber watches the blue, glancing at the other eggs every
once in a while, having almost forgotten about all the people around.

Qinan grins as more of the hatchlings impress and continues to watch the
sands fascinated.

R'val grins, "Maybe this one'll be a brown?" He hazards a guess, glancing
at Kershala.

On the sands, Siendara giggles at the little blue and smiles widely at
Alej and Verue, before staring at the grey egg.

On the sands, Selandra disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Vidarth rumbles towards herath.

Kershala shrugs, leaning back against a foreleg. "Brown? Mayyyybe. I'd
say so. Or perhaps another blue."

R'val grins, "Ah, here's Kindre."

Nialla starts at Cirdanth's bugle and then giggles a bit to cover her
surprise. She looks around and tentatively waves to Janelle.

On the sands, Abrieth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling shakes his head again, and drops
his gaze. White things. Look interesting. He takes a step, wobbles, and
then takes three steps quickly before tripping and landing snout-fisrt in
the sand.

On the sands, Azaela shifts from foot to foot and grins as she watches
more and more eggs hatch and more and more hatchlings Impress.

Kassima waves to Kindre and shakes her head. "Green, 'twill be another
green. Though Lyss says bronze."

On the sands, Vtanth nudges Shalith, rumbling a low, proud note, whirling
his eyes at the golden queen.

Nestled in her familiar spot on Herath, Kindre waves, unbuckling.

On the sands, Anndora covers her mouth with one hand as she giggles a
little at the blue.

Kindre gives Herath's neck a loving rub before she slips down with the
polished ease of familiarity. The gold's eyes seem to burn through Kindre
until she is certain her lifemate is sure-footed on the ground, then turn
equally as hot to the surroundings in a quick survey.

Cirdanth snorts at Lysseth, looking... jealous?

Liena waves to Kindre.

On the sands, The dusty grey egg jumps again, making a tiny spray of sand
hit an egg in front of it before it lies still again.

Merellia's brows pinch together in a faint line, the beginnings of a frown
erased as she smiles in appreciation of the newly Impressed pair. Her eyes
following them for the moment, "He's fine, Silly." A quick grin curving
her lips, she asks of her sister, "Betting for a brown hatching next,
then?"

Alyssa waves cheerfully to Kindre and beckons her over. "Hey!!"

Kindre quietly salutes the riders and then slips in near Alyssa.

On the sands, K'ri emerges from a small cave just off the sands.

Janick giggles, "hey the eggs jump!"

Silora nods, eyes dancing. "Of course...of course. Though apparently my
guesses are all wrong..."

R'val grins over at Kindre.

Karise waves to Kindre, perched on Erinyth's paw.

Liena leans over to Kindre and points out the absolutely gorgeous Blue...
"Isn't he lovely?"

Deirdre asks Miritha, "Who's Weyrlingmaster this time?"

On the sands, K'ri trots back to see what the newest arrivals are doing,
grinning she spies the Blue hatchling and watches him

On the sands, Siendara brushes the loose wisps of hair behind her ears, as
she looks at the little blue.

On the sands, Alejandro blinks as the blue falls, just barely stopping
himself from reaching out towards it, instead shifting forward on to the
balls of his feet and watching anxiously.

Miritha glances around, then leans back and calls out, "I wager on at
least fifteen greens. Anyone taking?" She appends, to Deirdre, "K'ri, I
think. Kiriana."

L'ton looks over, having overheard the question, "It's K'ri."

P'tran nods to Kindre with a slight smile before turning his attention
back to the sands

Kindre peeers to where Liena points, then smilees, nodding, "Oh, he is!"

Deirdre says "Kiriana?"

Deirdre grins, shakes her head.

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling snorts, blowing sant into the air.
That was wrong. Try again? He pulls himself to his feet, takes a step, and
spreads out his wings. This seems almost as interesting as the white
things for just a moment, and he spreads them out to dry, peering intently
forwards and around.

Kershala grins. "Fifteen? I say eighteen," she mutters. Then elbows
'Danth. "No, there won't be thirty. However you'd like it."

Deirdre says "And may she get what she so richly deserves -- although she
wasn't bad, really, not comapred to the rest of her class."

On the sands, Verue elatedly tracks the hatchling's faltering motion
across the hot weyr sands. He grins when the blue rights himself
successfully.

Merellia asks, a gleam of mischeivousness flickering in her eyes, "Really?
Maybe you and I ought to make a couple wagers, Sil."

Lysseth croons soothingly to Cirdanth, nudging the brown lightly with her
muzzle. "Okay, egg," Kassi calls to one of the rocking eggs. "I know
you're green. You know you're green. Now crack your shell and show the
rest of these folk!" This, of course, earns her a *snort* from Lysseth.

Miritha elbows Deirdre. "Kiriana. You know. The one we ... Right. No,
T'rod was in that clutch."

On the sands, Alejandro gives an approving nod as the blue rights himself.

Jehrina slides down Leilanth's foreleg as she carefully lowers it to the
ground.

On the sands, Misharn nods at Durron and grins as the blue trips clumsily.
Wrinnging her hands nervously, she takes Dara's free hand with her own,
sheepishly smiling at her.

R'val grins at Kassima archly, "talking to eggs, Kassi?"

L'ton grins at Deirdre and Miritha, "You knew Kiriana that far back?"

Silora stuffs a hand in her pocket, where a few marks reside from the
day's events. "Well, now...I'd say the next would certainly be a brown..."

P'tran grins as he watches Leilanth and gives his weyrmate a quick hug.
"Glad to see you could make it."

On the sands, Siendara smiles as the blue spreads out his wings, she turns
and smiles at Misharn as her hand is taken.

Anise listens to Miritha and Deirdre speak.

Kindre smiles, saluting Jehrina before wving, "Evening, Weyrwoman."

On the sands, Anndora shifts her weight again as the heat of the Sands
gets through to her feet.

On the sands, Maicia winces as the beautiful blue falls, then smiles as he
corrects himself.

Kershala peers closer at the sands, and finally finds Misharn in the lot.
"A herder... good luck to you." Not that she could hear it from here,
but...

Alyssa salutes Jehrina before changing the gesture into a wave.
"Greetings, Weyrwoman!"

On the sands, Kimber chuckles as she watches the blue try to find his
footing, then does so.

Liena waves to the Weyrwoman.

Aisha smiles at Jehrina. "You really do exist. I was beginning to wonder
if P'tran has kidnapped you or something."

L'ton sees Jehrina and salutes, "Weyrwoman."

Nialla catches Kershala's comment and smiles, then holds her thumbs for
herder luck.

Deirdre looks over at L'ton, giving him an appreciative grin. "We did.
Miritha was Weyrlingmaster for that clutch, and I was her hapless
assistant."

Miritha gives L'ton a faint grin. "I watched her Impress, and we two and
Annilith were her Weyrlingmasters. Faranth, what a group that was." She
elbows Deirdre again. "Didn't help when the Weyrlingmaster had to dress
down her Assistant in the middle of a Gather at Ista Weyr the day before,
either."

Jehrina smiles at P'tran, waves at whoever is silly enough to take their
attention off the sands, "Watch the hatching, not me." She grins at Aisha,
"He's trying."

Nya murmurs to Jehrina "Ista's duty to Benden."

Kassima shrugs at R'val. "Why nay? Just giving it a bit of encouragement,
as 'twere...." She smartly salutes Jehrina, but her eyes are already glued
back on the Sands. "Green. Nay bronze. Green. I'm telling you, Lysseth--
this is one time when I'm the one in the right."

Janick siddles over for a better view and winds up peering over one of
Cirdanth's legs while rubbing the skin absentmindedly and wishing the best
to a fellow herder

P'tran chuckles at Jehrina and does indeed turn his head back to the
sands.

R'val chuckles, shaking his head in amusement at Kassima's antics. He
turns his eyes back to the hatching.

L'ton nods at Miritha, "Then you folk did well. She's one of the best, by
far."

Deirdre says "Although that's not a secret we admit very often --" She
breaks off, laughing. "Don't start, Mir. It's not _my_ fault Kolith was
proddy, or that C'lyn was -- well, C'lyn."

On the sands, Shalith warbles to the blue, sounding rather motherly yet
imperative.

Cirdanth blinks, peers at Janick, then absently whuffles the young man's
hair as he turns to watch again.

On the sands, The dusty grey egg shudders, rolling down a little into an
empty spot close by, closer to the waiting semi-circle of Candidates.

Merellia curves her mouth in a grin to Silora, "A brown, then? And if I
figure it won't be?"

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling snorts again, and stretches out
his wingsails. Then he takes an ungainly leap forwards, using the wings
for balance, and manages to land well, spraying sand forwards all over the
candidates.

Deirdre says "Thank you, rider. That's the best compliment I can imagine."

Deirdre says "And who are you, anyway?"

Anise looks over at L'ton and her expression turns into a mostly fake
pout. She mummurs, "One of the best. Nobody tells me that."

On the sands, Durron throws up an arm to ward of the spray of sand, and
spits what he missed out of his mouth.

Adonith bugles his encouragement to the little blue to find his lifemate.

Miritha gives a quiet giggle. "No, but it was horrid. I didn't think I'd
need to, and remember, I hadn't had to deal like that with any greenrider
before."

Narai looks across the ranks of dragons to find hers again, quirking a
grin at the blue.

On the sands, Kimber splutters as she gets pelted with sand.

Kershala grins and cheers for the little blue! "He's marvelous! That'll be
a fighter indeed."

On the sands, Alejandro closes his eyes for a moment as the sand sprays
over him, reaching up to rub his eyes for a moment.

L'ton says "L'ton, rider to Tasorth. Until things.. slipped.. we were
weyrmates."

Kindre ohs! "That gray one moved!" Nudging Alyssa, she smiles, "Nice to be
on the other side of this..."

On the sands, Anndora winces as she gets sprayed with sand and takes a
step back to brush herself off.

On the sands, Azaela turns turns to avoid getting a faceful of sand.

Aisha chuckles. "as you say, Jehrina." and turns back to look at the
sands.

On the sands, Siendara's breath comes out low as the grey egg rolls down.
Dara shakes her head and wipes her clothing down to reomve the sand.

Janick looks up at the wuffling dragon and giggles as his eyes lock back
onto the sand and eggs again

On the sands, Verue finally sneaks a glance at the other candidates as the
blue gets his berrings. He grins at those that meet his gaze.

R'val grins towards Kindre, "It's your first Hatching since Impressing,
no? How's it feel to be on the other end?"

On the sands, Misharn sputters and ducks as sand flies everywhere,
emitting a soft giggle. kBrushing it out of her face, she tries to see
what the grey egg is doing.

Shandra shakes her head, emerging from some private reverie, and smiles
warmly to Jehrina.

On the sands, Maicia turns her head quickly, but the sand sprinkles her
hair.

Kassima laughs, grinning at Shala. "Either that, or an excellent splasher
in fights of the water kind. Just look at the way he sent that sand
flying! A certain sign."

On the sands, T'quinn hides a smile at the antics of the little blue. He
can't help sagging somewhat against his dragon.

On the sands, Azaela grins when she glances back to the blue, then looks
over at the other moving eggs.

Deirdre says, to L'ton, "A pleasure. Deirdre, green Kolith. Visiting from
Honshu, but I was here at Fort for -- Turns."

Kindre nods, chuckling to R'val, "Yes, Sir...only the second I've actually
seen, to be true."

Miritha manages, after a few moments, to lean back again, to say around
Deirdre, "Welcome to Fort, Benden."

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling shakes his head again, and takes a
few steps forwards. Snurf. Not interesting. He passes by the first
candidate and the second, giving them barely a second glance, and winds up
peering up at Misharn and Siendara.

R'val grins at Kindre, nodding.

Meli sighs, realizing the time. "Keep track for me, neh?" she asks of the
other Bendenites. "I've got dawn sweeps t'morrow" as she reluctantly
rises.

Cirdanth rumbles agreement, peering down at Shala with a spark of
mischief. She elbows him again, not that an elbow could make a dent in his
hide. Then she blinks and leans in close, watching. "Is it looking at
Misharn? Good Faranth, I think he is."

On the sands, Siendara looks at Misharn and looks down at the blue.

On the sands, Misharn takes a deep breath as the blue nears her, and
releases it slowly.

R'val nods quickly, 'He's looking over Misharn, and some other girl."

On the sands, Alejandro grins as he watches the blue, absently reaching up
to brush the sand from his robe.

Miritha gives Deirdre a quick glance, and she touches her weyrmate's
cheek. "And a few long Turns at Igen, and some short ones made longer at
High Reaches between Fort and Igen."

L'ton smiles at Deirdre, "You should visit more often. We could use all
the lovely ladies we can get here."

Jehrina nods to Miritha, "Benden's duty to your weyr." She tilts her head
towards the sands, "Lively group."

On the sands, Kimber lifts one foot, shaking the sand out of her sandal.

On the sands, After giving a violent shudder, the Dusty Grey Egg splits
down the middle, and a brown head emerges.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling:
With a hide colored by a motley mix of reddish browns, this strapping
dragonet gives the appearance of being solidly carved out of a polished
cedarwood that has been given a subtle warm glow by the light of an
evening fire. The bulk of his very generous body is stained an earthy
russet brown like the leaves of late autumn, and his blunt head with large
eyes that gives him a charmingly honest expression is decorated with
coppery streaks around the corners of his mouth and all the way down his
neck lining the neckridges, each of which is a lighter shade of auburn
compared with the rest of his body. He has a large, square frame filled
out with strong muscles and young babiness that gets in his way as he
moves forward with a questing nose.

Janick smiles as the blue looks at mishran and tries to restrain from
wooping out loud

Meli climbs smoothly up Juliath's extended foreleg and settles herself
between the neck ridges, as the green gives a welcome rumble from deep in
her throat.

R'val grins, "There you go Shala, your brown at last."

Kershala grins and lets out a whoop. "A brown it is! And a handsome one!"

Liena looks at the little Brown and smiles.

On the sands, Anndora steps back into the circle as the brown hatches,
looking past the blue to watch.

On the sands, Verue marvels at the appearance of the brown, his eyes flash
and a slow smile spreads across his face.

On the sands, Durron jerks his head back around to look at the eggs when
the brown hatches.

On the sands, Misharn glances at the brown hatchling, and refocuses on the
blue standing right in front of her and Dara.

On the sands, Kimber looks up from watching the blue to see the brown
emerge from his shell.

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling looks up, peering at first one
young woman than the other. He stretches out his neck and begins
inspecting their ankles and the hems of their robes.

Juliath launches off the ledge, banking through the aerial entrance to the
Bowl.

Kassima tsks and shakes her head. "'Least it wasn't bronze. So we were
both wrong, again--methinks 'tis a draw, Lyss. But he's a handsome one,
isn't he?" She grins at Shala. "I take it 'Danth's glad of another brown?"

P'tran nods in response to Miritha and smiles slightly at her.

Merellia shakes her head, eyes crinkling with amusement at the corners as
the newest dragonet hatches. "Timing is all," she says to Silora with a
chuckle. "Lucky for me we didn't settle that wager."

Nialla grins, forgetting herself, and asks Kershala, "Are riders forever
rooting for their own dragon's color after Impression?"

On the sands, Vtanth lets out a reverberating, proud rumble as another of
his children hatches, his eyes whirling quickly, chest puffed out with
pride.

On the sands, Azaela leans over slightly to watch the blue, then glances
over at the brown, smiling.

On the sands, Alejandro sees brown from the corner of his eye, then turns
to glance at the newest dragonet, smiling as he takes in the richness of
the brown's coloring.

On the sands, Misharn winces, looking down.

Kershala hodls her breath, watching the blue and crossing her fingers for
Misharn.

Deirdre laughs, flipping her braid back over her shoulder. "Could you?
I'll remember that." To Miritha, "It was very orderly. Fort until D'vin
was Weyrleader, High Reaches until C'trel wanted me at Igen, Igen until
Lemarath finally rose and got me out of having to work, back to Fort again
until -- well. The rest of the story is recent history."

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling flips down the mound of sand and
lands, on his rear, facing backwards -- away from the Candidates. His head
weaves for a few minutes, then he shakes it and looks up. And up. At his
golden mother. He toots at her, a really small attempt at a bugle.

Jehrina glances at Nialla, and smiles. "That sort of limits me, doesn't
it?"

Alyssa overhears Nialla's inquiry and laughs, blushing, as she realizes
that is indeed what she was doing.

Cirdanth snorts and bobs his head ina near-human nod. Dragons.

On the sands, Siendara moves her ankles a bit, as she sways on the hot
sands.

On the sands, Anndora has to giggle again at the brown, covering her mouth
with one hand.

Cirdanth chuffs in amusement and *bugles*. See? THAT"s how you do it.

On the sands, Alejandro chuckles quietly at the brown, shaking his head.

On the sands, Kimber smiles softly at the brown. "Aw..."

On the sands, Maicia watches the blue and Misarn and Siendara, her breath
held.

Janick looks up at Cirdanth and giggles and pats the big brown. he then
goes back to cheering for Misharn to impress

On the sands, Shalith bugles back down to her small son. Maybe a bit too
loudly.

On the sands, Sabriel walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Azaela grins and mutters softly "Oh..he could do better than
that...."

Katany begins to say, to Nialla, "Only if --" And then stops, when Jehrina
speaks, and smiles.

Miritha snorts slightly. "You stayed at Fort a few Turns, at least. And a
good thing, too. Can you imagine how it would be different if you hadn't
stayed?"

On the sands, Anndora winces at Shalith's bugle, watching the brown.

On the sands, Fathomless Blue Hatchling raises his head, swaying back and
forth as he tries to match Siendara's movements. Snurf. He prods his nose
gently into her chest.

Nialla flushes, "Oh... ah..." she takes in Jehrina and Leilanth and
stammers, "I- I would rather _hope_ not, Weyrwoman..." she nods to Katany
and hastily corrects herself, "weyrwomen."

On the sands, Durron arches an eyebrow at the bugle and wiggles a finger
in his ear to clear the ringing.

Deirdre points down at the brown. "That one, for Anndora. If it has any
taste."

On the sands, Misharn jerks suddenly at shalith's bugle, and steps half a
step back, releasing Dara's hand.

Kindre leans against Herath, her eyes locked as she watches her first
Hatching...well, first from this distance. Blinks, she smiles wide, "Oh,
I think that blue's found one..."

On the sands, Verue laughs, his eyes echoing the action on their own, as
he stares at the brown, watching him watching his mother.

On the sands, Siendara looks down at the blue as he buts her.

On the sands, Maicia reflexively brings her free hand up to her ear, then
lowers.

On the sands, Alejandro cringes a bit at the loud bugle, looking up at
Shalith, then looks over at the blue.

Janick pouts as Mishran isn't selected by the gorgeous blue dragon

On the sands, Anndora glances at Misharn and Siendara as Misharn moves
suddenly, then grins as Siendara Impresses.

On the sands, Siendara's face breaks out into a wide smile, "He's
Ruwenth!"

Deanne blinks, trying to take everything in.

Adonith BUGLES! as he sees the blue finally make a choice. "Well done!!"
Alyssa calls, applauding.

On the sands, Sabriel blinks and puts her hands to her ears. She grins at
Dara and mouthes a 'congrats'

Miritha shakes her head firmly. "No, no. Anndora's going to impress a
green, if she Impresses this time. Wager on it?"

Rhyana gets to her feet and cheers, as loudly as she can, "Siendara!!
Congrats!!!"

On the sands, Azaela glances at Dara, grinning brightly in her happiness
when she Impresses

On the sands, The splashed black egg tilts slowly from sitting straight up
to the right. Then the egg shifts again, and wobbles slowly to the left.
Then it stops. For now.

R'val grins, "The blue made a good choice."

Kershala sighs softly for Misharn, but cheers anyway, picking up on the
name. "Siendara and... Ruwenth!"

On the sands, Ruwenth nudges Dara again, and lets out a happy-sounding
warble.

On the sands, K'ri smiles and claps her together happily as the new pair
are formed...then she waits for them to look up and motions them towards
the caven entrance...

On the sands, Vtanth rumbles! as the little one makes his choice!

On the sands, Kimber grins in Siendara and Ruwenth's direction.

Elynie adds her voice to the general shouts.

Deirdre says "Is that a trick question? Of course I'll wager."

Aisha chuckles lightly. "But their dragon is always the best regardless."

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling blinks as his head darts back at the
bugle, and he scrambles to turn around. Once he gets his body turned
around, he stands there a moment, gazing at all those white robes.

Deirdrelooks over at L'ton. "D'you have any input?"

On the sands, T'quinn smiles proudly at Ileara, and nods with satisfaction
at the sight of the newly Impressed pair. THe sight seems to revitalize
him somewhat.

On the sands, Anndora looks back at the firelit brown, wetting her parched
lips.

On the sands, Siendara blushes and looks at the blue and indicates that
they are to follow K'ri.

Jehrina nods as the blue Impresses, and then grins at Nialla, "No offense
taken. It's just sort of easy to tell when there's one of this color."

Janick decides instead of pouting to cheer for the new impression anyways

On the sands, Misharn grins at Dara, rubbing her ears with one hand,
"Congratulations, Dara!" She peers over at the eggs with a nervous smile.

Kassima grins. "Ruwenth 'tis a fine name, and quite the unusual one! And
that pairing will be equally fine, I wager. Now, who's this brown looking
for...?" She starts leaning forward again, trying to get an even better
view.

On the sands, Ruwenth looks over at K'ri, then back to Siendara, and
nudges her again.

On the sands, Siendara smiles at Misharn.

On the sands, K'ri smiles,...." congratulations Dara "
P'tran comments to Jehrina, "There's been quite a few greens in this
clutch so far."

Nialla glances at the ceiling for guidance before adding, although it's
mostly drowned out, "I think everyone welcomes a gold and that leaves room
for goldriders to be the... least prejudiced." Then she smiles with relief
at Jehrina's reassurance.

On the sands, Maicia gives Siendara a thumbs up sign, "Congratulations,
Dara!"

R'val mutters to Kassima, "I can't see, can you?" He cranes his neck
forward to try and get a better look.

On the sands, Siendara smiles, and stands near Ruwenth...

On the sands, Azaela finally glances back to the other eggs and the brown
nearby.

Katany tilts her head slowly, eyes leaving the sands long enough to
examine Nialla's face.

On the sands, Siendara giggles...

On the sands, Siendara disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Alejandro winks at Dara, then returns his attention to the
brown, grinning as he finally figures out which way is which.

On the sands, Verue straightens his own robe as the brown looks around at
the formation of candidates.

Shandra grins at Jehrina, "I'll say. No mystery there."

Anise recrosses her legs and places her hands in her lap as she looks out
on the sands.

Jehrina laughs softly, "Well said."

On the sands, K'ri hands Dara over to her assistants and returns to the
front line to see who the brown chooses

Kassima nods. "Aye, R'val, pretty well. Ought to be well enough to see the
next--a green; Lysseth agrees with me this time, too--hatch."

Cirdanth snorts.

Nialla flushes, though whether from awareness of Katany's examination or
pleasure at Jehrina's compliment is not clear, and she looks back
resolutely at the Sands as soon as courtesy permits, rubbing one of the
palms of her hand with the other.

Kershala grins and leans to mutter to Kassi, "He says it ought to be a
green."

On the sands, Ruwenth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Maicia glances at Azaela and then, around her, at Kimber,
then turns back to face the brown.

R'val chuckles, "Methinks it'll be a bronze, Kassi."

On the sands, Kimber winks at Maicia.

Alyssa sighs, hugging Kindre close with one arm. "It seems like we just
Impressed, doesn't it?"

Miritha glances down at the sands, and nods. "Two-mark on Anndora for
green, then."

Aisha smiles at Nialla. "Good save."

On the sands, Misharn frowns down at her uneven hemline. She shrugs
philosophically, and with a grin, returns to watching the brown.

Liena goes pale as she remembers something, leaps up and runs out...

On the sands, The splashed black egg rolls slowly forward, this time,
pausing for a moment before changing direction and rolling backwards. It
seems to be a little indecisive.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling :gathers himself up and begins a
stumbling, but amazingly rapid, walk towards the semi-circle of white
robes. He toddles up to the first group of Candidates he reaches, and
accidentally steps on a bare foot -- raking a nasty scratch on an
unprepared Candidate.

Kassima chuckles at Shala. "Of course. He'd prefer if they were all
greens, wouldn't he?" Lysseth turns her head and snorts at Cirdanth,
almost in accusation.

Deirdre says "Deal, Mir."

On the sands, Azaela winces when the brown hurts someone.

On the sands, Durron grimaces and makes sure he stays out of the way of
those sharp claws.

Kershala grins. "He says so long as they're all as pretty as Lysseth."

R'val grimaces, "Shards, "HE murmurs, healers instincts coming to the
fore, 'That lad'll need stitches, I think."

Katany turns back to the Sands, after a quick comment to Narai.

Janick winces as the brown leaves blood behind on the sand and glances at
'Danth quickly to make sure he isn't about to be stepped on himself

On the sands, Alejandro groans sympathetically as the brown steps down,
unconsciously pulling one of his feet back at the same time.

On the sands, Sabriel blinks as the brown hatches, she moves over towards
Azaela wincing as the hatchling rakes one of the candidates.

On the sands, Misharn sighs, frwoning as one of the candidates gets
injured. She stands lightly on her feet, prepared for a rush in her
direction from the brown.

On the sands, Anndora shakes her head slowly as she watches the
inattentive Candidate get scratched.

On the sands, Verue turns to watch the brown make his way down the curving
line of candidates. Making sure his own boot-encased toes are in no
danger, he smiles.

Nya hmms again and murmurs, half to herself, "I wonder who's doing the
records for this hatching."

Kassima laughs. "Ah! Well, 'tis all right, then. Just hope he doesn't
compliment Lyss too much; I'm half afeared that she'll start getting a
swelled head."

Cirdanth noses Janick again. He wouldn't. Of course not. He's got better
foot control.

Nialla sneaks a look of relief in Aisha's direction.

On the sands, Kimber winces as one of the candidates gets hurt.

On the sands, Azaela smiles to Sabriel as she briefly looks away from the
brown then resumes her watching.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling steps back, looking up at the
injured Candidate before moving on to another cluster.

Straped onto Aberuth, Margret unbuckles the flying straps holding her in.

Margret swings a leg over and slids off of Aberuth easily.

Miritha peers down at the brown and his bloodied candidate, but appears
not to really notice it; certainly, she's entirely casual as she points
down at one of the NPCs. "And she used to be a washer-woman down in the
caverns, I remember talking to her mother after a Hatching once."

Janick giggles and hugs Cirdanths leg and says softly to him, "Oh i'm
sorry just hard to think one minute I've never been around dragons..next
minute I'm seeing them hatch!"

Narai nods quickly at Katany, an eye finding the hurt candidate.

Anise spies the Istan brownrider and calls out, "Meg! You've come to
visit!"

Katany looks up, smiling all at once and very glad. "Meg, hello. Come and
sit with us?" She is near Shandra, beside Narai, already shifting to make
room for the brownrider.

Garia happily sets Taria down, who then scampers away.

On the sands, Maicia looks carefully at the brown, reminding herself to be
quick on her feet.

Margret waves a general salute/wave and an 'Ista's Duty' while she
dusts ... well dust off her clothes. Darn sweeps. Spying Anise and Katany,
she waves at the first and walks over to the latter.

On the sands, Sabriel shifts her feet, feeling the heat. Her eyes watching
the brown's progress.

Shandra smiles at Margret.

Aisha smiles and waves to Margret then peers over at Katany for a moment.

On the sands, The splashed black egg wavers slightly, not even quite sure
which direction to lean in. It sways gently from one side to the other,
then rolls slightly down towards the candidates.

On the sands, Misharn forces herself to relax, watching the hatchling and
remaining eggs with anticipation. She grins over at Sabriel.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling moves on, toddling rapidly along the
line. He stops again, and cocks his head sideways as he regards another
Candidate. He stares at her hopeful face for a very long moment, then
gathers himself and rushes headlong, right past her.

Anise quirks her lips to one side for a moment, briefly put out by Meg's
choice. Then she shrugs, sending her anatomy into a bit of a bounce. She
goes back to looking at the clutch.

On the sands, Kimber watches to see where he goes and who he chooses.

G'rel also gives a wave to Margret, staying somewhat apart from the
Igenites, with other Istans.

Aberuth warbles at the little brown while Meg sits by Katany, "Hullo."

On the sands, Anndora sighs as the brown rushes past.

On the sands, Azaela tilts her head curiously as she watches the brown.

On the sands, With a loud crack, the Splashed Black Egg breaks apart
spraying the nearby sands with fragments of shell. A green head peeks out
and then slowly emerges.

On the sands, Soaring Green Hatchling:
Coloured the soft, natural green of forest pine trees is this soaring
green dragonet. As she wriggles away from her shell you can get a better
view of her beauty, and now many more colours can be seen blending over
her graciously. A darker moss green infuses the pine green under her wings
in a dark blush, with tinges of aquamarine flowing down her arched back
like a small hint of ocean. Her neckridges appear overly large, yet
fragile with soft delicate blue tones as though painting a picture of the
pine trees reaching a summer's blue sky. As she lifts her wings away from
the scorching heat of the sand, you notice that even though she's small,
her wingspan more than makes up for it, and will serve her well in flight
as she grows into them.

Janick says "Another green!"

Katany says "Meg, do you know Narai? If not I shold introduce you."

R'val grins impishly, pointing, "You were right this time, kassi. Another
green."

On the sands, Anndora starts a bit at the crack from the black egg.

On the sands, Alejandro watches the brown stare at the girl, and nods
slightly, certain that's who'll be Impressing next. He blinks in surprise
as the brown moves on.

Narai shakes her head, "No, I don't think I do."

Qinan chuckles as another green appears and looks to see where the browns
rush takes him.

L'ton laughs, "All these greens.. What's a bluerider to do?"

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling finally halts, quite suddenly, and
spins around to stare at a Candidate that he almost ran past.

Garia laughs, looking at Melionth "Reminds me of you, love!"

Margret shakes her head, "No, I dinna know her." she smiles. "Pleased
t'meet ye, Narai. Meg, rider o'brown Aberuth."

Adonith rumblecroons at the newly hatched green.

Deirdre says ".Another. green. Things are certainly stacked in your
favour, Miritha."

On the sands, K'ri chuckles as the brown races about in a tizzy

Kassima claps and points. "See! Green indeed, in very deed!" Lysseth lifts
her head and *bugles* quite loudly, spreading her wings to keep her
balance on the ledge.

On the sands, Anndora watches the green steady herself.

Anise says in response to L'ton, "Enjoy it, that's what."

Aberuth rumbles. Another green to chase.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling takes a few small steps forward and
bumps his snout into Durron's knee.

On the sands, Maicia moves her gaze quicklyfrom the brown to the brand new
Hatchling.

On the sands, Soaring Green Hatchling lifts her head slowly, shaking off
the remains of the shell. She quite calmly spreads her wings and shakes
them out, then peers around, trying to grasp what's going on - and where
she should be going.

Garia giggles, catching L'ton's eye to give him a wink....

Deirdre says "I'm sure you're suffering terribly, L'ton. You look like the
type."

Narai smiles right back. "Well met. I belong to blue Farrith. He's hiding
somewhere around here."

On the sands, Alejandro gives a quiet chuckle as Durron's knee is
headbutted.

Cirdanth snorts loudly at Lysseth, then inhales, hard, and *BUGLES*. No,
you didn't hear the embarrassing tiny tiny squeak right at the end.

L'ton nods at Anise, "Well, you never give me the time of day when that
Lord Holder isn't around."

On the sands, Anndora grins as the brown nudges Durron.

Kassima grins at R'val. "Aye, so I was. Makes a nice change, I must say.
Even if Lyss was right again as well."

On the sands, Sabriel wows as the Green hatches, she grins and gives
Durron a congratulary wave.

On the sands, Azaela ohs softly, grinning brightly, then pulls her eyes to
the green.

Margret grins, "Nice t'meet ye. What'd I miss?"

On the sands, Misharn grins at the green's poise, and nods at Durron,There
you go," she says softly.

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling bumps Durron's knee again, tooting.

Janick looks up at Cirdanth his ears ringing from the bugle as he pats his
leg with a certain awe and wonder

On the sands, Durron looks down at the little brown with wonder and hope.

Shandra finally makes out G'rel, and waves cheerily. She pokes Lemarath,
"You're supposed to be keeping me more informed since you choose this
hollow for our spot."

On the sands, Alejandro turns his gaze to the green, watching with a tiny
smile.

On the sands, Two pale blue eggs, right next to each other, pop after
frenetic shaking. A brown and a blue tumble out, peering around themselves
dazedly. Both walk, wobbly but more sure as they take more steps, towards
the Candidates. The brown stops beside a black-haired lad, while the blue
halts next to a young woman. A green, right beside the blue, stares
fixedly at a young man, two Turns older than the brown's choice.

Aisha smiles. "Goodness there /are/ a lot of greens. I hope Fort's wine
cellars are well stocked."

Anise looks at L'ton and then says, "Why would you want to know what time
it is?" She smiles impishly at him.

On the sands, Anndora shifts her weight nervously as both of her neighbors
have been chosen.

On the sands, K'ri ohs and grins at Durron as he and the brown link
eyes...

On the sands, Firelit Brown Hatchling :looks up into Durron's face and
falls down on his rear again, lost.

L'ton sticks his tongue out at Anise before he turns back to keep
watching.

On the sands, The pristine white egg tilts slowly to one side, but rights
itself before it can tip over.

Alyssa applauds the new Impression of brown to weyrling, smiling brightly
and calling congratulations.

Miritha whistles lightly. "I _did_ wager there'd be at least fifteen
greens. That's a good large number."

On the sands, Azaela looks back and forth between the hatchlings.

Lysseth *snorts* at Cirdanth, and looks about ready to try and outmatch
that until Kassi looks her lifemate square in the eye. "Do," the rider
says in a perfectly serious tone, "and you'll nay have any wherries for a
full Turn." This threat is quite enough to make Lyss subside, with some
grumbling.

On the sands, Soaring Green Hatchling steps forward, her legs kicking the
shells away. A few pieces of shell scatter high, landing near or on
several Candidates. The green looks around, and finally, slowly, makes her
way over to a group of boys, eyeing them carefully.

On the sands, Off to the far side of the clutch, a sparkling, pristine
white egg shatters in a small detonation of shards flung hither and yon by
an intense motion from inside! A struggling brown hatchling emerges,
shakes himself free of the last of his shards, and makes his way down the
sands. Zipping almost immediately to the first candidate group he sees, he
veritably pounces a long, lanky lad from Ruatha Hold, who falls to his
knees, stricken with awe, "Vodarth!" He cries joyously.

On the sands, Verue lets out a long breath as the brown stumbles upon
Durron and grins as he tumbles backwards. He smiles at his fellow
candidate, then turns to get a glimpse of the green that just hatched.

On the sands, D'ron gasps and leans over to steady the brown, then, tears
of joy streaming down his face, wraps his arms around him, "His name is
Firoth!"

Nialla catches Aisha's comment and frowns just slightly, puzzled, before
the impression distracts her.

On the sands, Firoth nuzzles against D'ron's chest.

Kershala grins. "And a fine choice! Firoth..." she tests the name and
nods. "Not quite as good as Cirdanth, but not many could match that ;)"

On the sands, Anndora sighs softly and mutters, "Told you..." She then
looks back towards the emerging Hatchlings.

On the sands, Azaela grins at D'ron Impress, looking positively happy for
him, then slowly looks away.

On the sands, Kimber almost doesn't see Firoth and D'ron as she's watching
the eggs too closely.

On the sands, K'ri nods proudly! then motions for D'ron and his new
lifemate to work their way to her and then on to the cave beyond....

On the sands, D'ron smiles at Firoth and leads him over towards the cave.

On the sands, D'ron disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Prometh climbs out of Prometh's Couch.

On the sands, Firoth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Misharn laughs, "Congratulations!" and looks over at the
hatchlings who've burst out and quickly impressed. She sighs, and gives
Anndora a smile.

On the sands, Vivian grins at the chaos of Impressions going on around the
sands.

On the sands, Alejandro looks over at D'ron, unable to help smiling at his
happiness. He then turns his attention to the newest green.

On the sands, Maicia smiles happily at D'ron as he leaves the sands.

K'tyn slides down Prometh's fiery bronze flank to come to rest on the
ground. Prometh swings his head around to regard his lifemate gently.

On the sands, T'quinn smiles proudly at the latest Impression, nodding his
head in satisfaction. Vtanth emits a blast of a rumble, proudly.

Margret glances back at Aberuth and smiles, remembering the brown butting
her not that long ago..

Kassima nods absently, eyes intent on the green. "Aye, 'tis a worthy
name... but what name *isn't*? Now, listen here, Shala, and see if you
don't agree me. Next one's bronze, aye?"

On the sands, Sabriel spies the green hatchling and grins, happy for D'ron
and for Firoth

Kershala says "No... I don't think bronze. Blue, perhaps."

P'tran smiles. "Looks like some fine Impressions, though I have to admit I
don't know a majority of the candidates these days."

K'tyn sneaks in and sits next to his wingmates, saluting everyone who
needs saluting surrepticiously.

R'val Hrms, "Bronze? Nah. Green."

On the sands, Soaring Green Hatchling shakes her wings out again,
spreading them slightly. She turns away from the group of boys, and then
makes her way over to the other side, near Azaela and Misharn. She
carefully eyes a young red-head from Southern Boll, then turns away,
instead moving nearer to an older Weaver apprentice.

On the sands, The pristine white egg gives serveral quick little trembles,
and louder tapping noises can be distinctly heard from inside.

On the sands, A small egg shatters into shards, leaving a speedy little
green on the Sands. As soon as she's steady, she zips across the Sands to
a boy, one of the last Searched, who has moved over to stand next to
Anndora. She bugles imperiously and the happy weyrling leads her to the
side.

Jehrina says "They do Search different areas, 'tran."

Alyssa glances at P'tran and smiles, noting, "I'm just grateful you knew
us, sir."

On the sands, A dark green eggs breaks open, dropping a handsome young
bronze onto the sands. He lifts his head and bugles loudly before turning
towards the Candidates. Trailing his still damp wings in the sands, he
pauses before a sandy haired lad from Greenfields Hold. "His name is
Skanth!", he cries with obvious pride as his hands stroke the silky hide
of his new lifemate.

P'tran smirks at Jehrina. "Yes, but still, I used to know more than just
one or two. Oh well." He grins at Alyssa and nods.

On the sands, Out of a tiny hole in one end, a small blue snout appears.
It withdraws and after a few moments of furious tapping, the end of the
Pristine White Egg cracks open and a blue hatchling emerges.

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling:
The clear bright blue of mountain streams and lakes shines from this blue.
His hide is the clear bright color of pure water, highlighted in pale
blue, shadowed with the deep color of free flowing lakes. The shadows and
highlights run along his body as he moves like the currents of a swift
moving stream. He is small for his kind, as if he will be swift and agile
when he grows to his full size. He moves lightly on the sands, his legs
securely beneath him as he searches.

Kershala whistles. "Kassi, you're a marvel. Skanth! Want a perfect name."

On the sands, Anndora sighs again and watches the white egg's little blue.

Karise is quietly leaning against Erinyth's forleg, smiling as yet another
Impression takes place.

On the sands, Alejandro looks around at the other Impressions, then grins
at the blue. How cute.

On the sands, Misharn blinks as so many hatchlings emerge and impress in a
flurry of activity.

On the sands, Azaela practically holds her breath when she watches the
green move.

Janick smiles in aww at all the hatchlings and wonders if they will ever
grow as big as 'Danth

Narai sighs in mock resignation. "They just don't know how to make them
cloudy anymore."

On the sands, Kimber grins as the handsome blue arrives. She tries to
watch him and the green at the same time.

Margret looks down on the sands and taps Katany's arm, "Thas Kimber.
M'friend."

Aisha peers at Narai. "Cloudy?"

On the sands, As a small green pops up from her shards, she makes soft
bleating noises. Peering around, she scrambles to her feet and wobbles
forward. Quickly, she spots a short boy from Hold Gar, and butts him with
her head until he notices her. His face is joyous as he throws his arms
around her and murmurs quietly.

Alyssa adds with a wink to the Benden Weyrleader, "Though I daresay with
the way our wing behaves, sir, you sometimes might like to think you don't
know us."

Kassima grins at Shala. "A handsome name for a handsome bronze, methinks.
Ah... look, there's that blue you were guessing!"

On the sands, Maicia watches as the green comes towards her side of the
semi-circle. She looks around at all the Hatchlings, trying to smile at
those who Impress, plus keep her eyes on the unImpressed Hatchlings.

Katany blinks, and frowns down. "Which one, Meg?"

On the sands, Verue, just having gotten a good look at the green, is drawn
to the hatching of the blue.

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg rocks slightly in the small
depression in which it sits.

Jehrina snorts at Alyssa, "Just don't ask P'tran about flamethrowers,
alright?"

Narai nods at Aisha. "They all look so .. so .. not like Farrith."

On the sands, Sabriel looks at the Blue, "He's a handsome one" she
murmurs..

On the sands, Anndora nibbles nervously on her lower lip for a moment.

P'tran gives a wry grin at both Alyssa and Jehrina and says simply, "no
comment."

On the sands, Azaela slowly lets out her breath and watches the hatchlings
dart around, searching.

L'ton smiles at the starry midnight blue egg then looks up at his
lifemate, "Looks like you, but in Shell not Hide."

Jehrina smiles sweetly.

Margret points, "O'er there Dark blonde, skinny. She was a can'idate w'me
at Ista."

Aisha chuckles. "Didn't you just get done telling us you were unique,
Narai. Why shouldn't Farrith be unique too?"

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling wriggles out of the remains
of his egg in a fluster, and spends the next few moments composing
himself; unfurling wings, untangling tail. Once accustomed to this strange
new world, the whirl of his eyes reflects his new imperative - to find his
life's mate. With a musical bugle to dam and sire, he sets forth on the
most exciting adventure in his life.

Katany, suddenly, turns pink. She looks over at Irrylath, then at Narai.

Miritha twists to look behind her at the other riders and visitors, with a
smile for them all that turns softer as her eyes travel upwards, touching
her brown just briefly before she looks back at the Sands.

On the sands, Soaring Green Hatchling moves over slowly and quietly
towards Azaela, eyeing all the beings around her carefully and
consideringly. Nope. Nope. Nope. Hmmmm. She stops in front of Azaela, and
then very slowly and gently reaches out her nose towards the young woman.

Narai grins. "Good point. It's just that none of them is as pretty as
Farrith."

Alyssa grins at her Weyrwoman and Weyrleader before her attention is
called back to the sands and the seeking hatchlings.

On the sands, Maicia immediatly releases Azaela's hand to free it.

On the sands, Azaela blinks as shock, then pure joy runs across her face.
"Her name is Ilseth!"

Katany says to Narai, "Irrylath is glad you think so. As am I."

On the sands, Misharn takes a deep breath. She eyes the green hatchling
near Azaela with a small smile on her face, and swrfily glances around the
other eggs.

On the sands, Kimber keeps looking back and forth between the green and
blue then beams as Azaela and Ilseth Impress.

Katany says "I will hold my thumbs for Kimber, then, Meg."

Margret chuckles at Narai. "Wel's causse yer his rider."

On the sands, Alejandro smiles as the green nudges Azaela, then looks back
to the blue, his smile widening.

On the sands, Azaela says "Oh no..we'll get you food right away.."

On the sands, Verue looks about at the slightly disheveled formation of
candidates. He tries to take a few steps to the side to even it out, but
excitement has scrambled the once perfect semi-circle. He grins as he
turns to watch the blue at that one's jubulant bugle.

Kassima grins. "Look, Aph! Azaela Impressed green!"

On the sands, Anndora takes a deep breath and smiles at Azaela and Ilseth.

R'val grins, "Ah! P'tran, it seems the Fort dragons /did/ take more
interest in her than ours did."

On the sands, Maicia whispers to Azaela as she starts to move away,
"Congratulations!"

On the sands, K'ri cheers as yet another green chooses well and she
smiles, waving the newly formed pair over towards the cave opening...

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg tips precariously to one side,
hanging at the edge of the shallow depression.

Alyssa applauds. "Azaela's green was here, not Benden! Oh,
congratulations!"

Margret nods at Katany. "I'm hopin' fer her."

P'tran turns his attention back to the sands as some new movement there
catches his eye. He raises an eyebrow and hmms, then smiles. "Well,
apparantly Azaela was at the wrong Weyr last time," he comments with a
slight chuckle

On the sands, Sabriel gives Azaela a thumbs up, "Congrats Azaela"

On the sands, T'quinn smiles broadly at the latest Impression, nodding his
head towards Azaela, looking deeply pleased.

On the sands, Anndora turns back to the clutch, glancing at the blue egg
before turning to watch the blue hatchling.

Miritha leans back again, and says to R'val cheerfully, "Just shows Fort
has more taste, as you might expect." She winks at him and P'tran as she
says it.

R'val grins towards P'tran, "The dragons always know, eh sir?"

Jehrina nods, "Her dragon hadn't been shelled yet."

On the sands, Azaela grins brightly, tears falling down her cheeks. "Oh I
do lofve you.. This is your new home...Come..let's get you food."

On the sands, Verue notes the motion of the starry blue egg on the mound
with some interest, something he hasn't done for any other egg yet.

R'val winks back at Miritha and grins, "A low blow, Miritha!"

On the sands, Ilseth nuzzles Azaela hopefully, and looks around, then
fixes her eyes on Azaela again.

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg falls over the lip of sand that
formerly held it in place. Rolling slowly, it gathers speed until it comes
to a rest right beside another egg, just missing cracking into it.

Deirdre says "I can't argue with that; I didn't Impress when I stood at
Benden."

On the sands, Azaela begins to help Ilseth on.

Aisha smiles at Narai. "Well, of course /you/ would say that. As for me, I
must retain neutral, especially as a blue was kind enough to give me a
ride here."

From Atop Aerth, Shaylar pushes Lottie down, and urges her to settle
against Aerth, as she watches from above.

Miritha's teeth show even more in her grin. "See? Dei's proof of it."

Sylotra uses Aerth's straps and proffered foreleg to climb down.

On the sands, Misharn grins, "congratulations, Azaela!" and winces as one
egg nearly cracks another. Looking around, she spots the blue and watches
the dragonet with interest.

P'tran just smirks at Miritha and doesn't make any further comment.

L'ton says "I didn't impress the first time I stood here. Tasorth wasn't
in that clutch."

Lunarth whuffles Aisha again.

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling pauses by a young lad from
Telgar Hold and looks up at him hopefully for a moment. However, the boy
is not the one he wants, the dragonet knows this in an instant. He turns
his head away with a wistful croon and continues on his way, letting
himself get distracted by the warm yellow sands.

On the sands, Sabriel sees the rocking egg and watches it, waiting for the
dragon head to pop out.

On the sands, Maicia inches into the spot that Azaela just vacated, she
watches the blue very carefully.

On the sands, Alejandro flickers his gaze toward the rolling egg, then
back to the blue.

Alyssa just beams. "Nothing wrong at all with Standing more than once...
when you find your lifemate, you know he or she's worth the wait."

On the sands, Azaela disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Kimber smiles at Maicia, now beside her.

Margret tsks as the Telgar boy is passed by, "S'okay, Rebik!" she calls
down to him.

Sylotra settles back against Aerth, eyes searching the sands for familiar
figures.

On the sands, Ilseth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Kershala nods at Alyssa's words and raises her voice to carry. "Always
worth it... I stood here, remember?" The last words aren't exactly
directed toward anyone... but herself.

Aisha nudges Narai and murmurs something to her that gets lost in the
general noise of the hatching.

Deirdre says "Chareth swooped down on me like the wrath of -- well, she
swooped down on me and Searched me for Fort. Resav and Tragor were _so_
disappointed." She shakes her head, bemused, and looks down. "We need
another brown, so we can get Anndora Impressed."

On the sands, Anndora pats the Telgar boy consolingly on the shoulder as
they close the gaps in the circle.

Cirdanth rumblecroons and nuzzles Shala softly, flicking a wing partway
around her

Miritha says, thoughtfully, "I wouldn't know; I Impressed the first time I
stood. I had to do more than a little bit of talking to people after their
own Hatchings, though. Green," she finishes automatically, with a look at
Anndora again.

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg twitches slightly, the egg
having a herky-jerky appearance as it rolls back and forth.

On the sands, Anndora watches the blue egg, since the blue dragonet has
passed by.

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling peers from left to right as
he makes his way over the hot sands, crooning ever so softly in a call to
the candidates around him. His meandering takes him past a group of white
robes, he lifts his head, jewelled eyes regarding each candidate
carefully.

Kershala bites her lip as she watches the blue, glancing between it and
Misharn hopefully.

R'val grins, murmuring, "that's it, little blue. Choose well!"

On the sands, Sabriel steps in closer to Anndora. Trying to keep her feet
cool and watch at the same time, she sighs as the blue trundles past.

On the sands, Kimber looks down at her feet, shifting her sandled feet.

On the sands, Alejandro looks back at the egg, quirking an eyebrow at it's
odd motions. After a moment, he returns his attention to the blue.

Margret bites her lip, "C'mon Kimber!"

Aisha glances over Miritha for a moment, then gazes down at the wandering
blue. "Choosy little fellow."

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg rocks harder now, speed picking
up as it rolls first one way, than another, then begins to spin and
vibrate.

From Atop Aerth, Shaylar whistles over at Alyssa, and waves cheerily
before watching the blue hatchling with a warm smile and a pat for Aerth.

On the sands, Verue :chuckles at the blue's judging eyes and intent
manner.

Kassima half-grins at Shala. "'Tis like they say about lifemates sometimes
being on the second or third Sands you stand at, aye... ach, that pretty
blue still hasn't chosen?" She peers down at him. "Suppose he's making
sure he chooses aright! 'Tis nay something to rush. Though some seem to
Impress mightily fast."

On the sands, Anndora wets her lips again and stretches her neck to either
side, trying to relax a little.

R'val grins broadly, "He's a creature of methodical choice, that blue.'

Alyssa looks up at the whistle and wave, smiling as she sees Shaylar.
"Heyla!" she calls, waving back.

Kershala nods at Kassi. "I don't know what I'd do without 'Danth. No, he
doesn't seem to have, not yet."

On the sands, Misharn cocks her head at the blue dragonet's croon, and l
peers at the remaining eggs. She moves forward a bit, to close up the half
circle, now that there are so many empty spots.

P'tran nods at Kassima's words. "Didn't your cousin Thera stand once and
was left on the sands before she Impressed this time around?"

Narai nods toward Aisha.

Deanne blinks, still seeming overwhelmed, though she is trying not to show
it.

R'val nods, 'Thera did, as I recall. So do many."

On the sands, Alejandro glances at the egg again, then back at the blue,
smiling at the dragonet's concentration.

On the sands, Verue peers around as he notices the other candidates
filling in holes. He seems to count those that are left.

Deirdre says "Oh, lots of people don't Impress their first time."

On the sands, Maicia takes a deep breath and shifts all her weight off her
left foot and picks it up off the sands. She watches the pretty midnight
egg.

Aisha looks over at Katany for a long moment.

Malia smiles at Deanne and looks out over the sands "Not many left, I
think...."

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling moves slowly down the file of
candidates until he gets to a pair of girls, one tall Istan candidate and
Misharn. His eyes whirl a little faster as he considers.

Qinan watches th erocking egg making his own bets as to what lies within.

On the sands, Kimber catches her breath.

Kassima shrugs. "Same thing I'd do without Lysseth, I suppose. Can't
imagine that, either." She turns to nod to P'tran. "Aye, sir; she'd Stood
with Aph and me and the others, but had to go back to Healer. Which is
where Lyss found her." She grins. "Even though she had to disrupt a
handfasting celebration to do it."

Sylotra oos at the blue hatchling, "Oh, he's going to pick."

Kershala clenches her nails into her palms, half-grinning as she holds her
breath at the blue's inspections... so close to Misharn.

Deirdre says "Til didn't." She leans almost too-far forward, eyeing the
people on the sands. "One of these days Mei's going to be down there. I
just know it. You'd better keep track for me, Miritha."

Margret hisses, "Kimber's righ' there!" she forgets her sslightly ...
dirty atire and points.

R'val chuckles, "I heard about that handfasting, Kassi! Still can't
believe she tried to Search the groom."

P'tran chuckles at Kassima. "Yes, I recall that. Hopefully the Healer Hall
still doesn't feel too upstaged by that."

Janick closes his eyes and hopes for mishran to impress

Katany touches Margret's shoulder, light, and looks over at Aisha.

On the sands, Anndora glances over the Telgar boy's head towards Misharn
and the blue.

On the sands, The starry midnight blue egg spins wildly, shaking as its
occupant tries to emerge. Cracks appear all along the shell.

On the sands, Misharn stands stock still, trying not to startle the blue.

Deanne smiles back at Malia.

Miritha takes Deirdre's arm as she leans forward, automatically, just a
light touch that can tighten into a grip in an instant. "Oh, I will,
believe me. I just wonder if I'll see Mirval down there one day. I
shouldn't have waited so long, but there was so much to do."

Aisha's eyes close for a moment, then open slowly and gaze resolutely down
at the sands.

On the sands, Sabriel looks over at Misharn and the blue, she gives
Misharn a smile of encouragement.

On the sands, A resounding *snap* rings out across the sands as the Starry
Midnight Blue Egg shatters into pieces. Shards sail off in all directions
as a damp, blue face pokes his way from the remnants of his former home.

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling:
The dark dusky color of twilight is copied almost perfectly on this
dragonet's dark hide, the fuzziness of color coupled with the fact that he
is decidedly blue. Brighter patches of midnight and navy blue appear as he
moves, his motion both smooth and a little hesitant at the same time. He
is solidly built, as if he will be large for his kind when he matures.
Deep highlights and darker shadows play across his hide as he decides
where he should go.

Adonith bugles! Another blue!

On the sands, Anndora grins at the twilight blue as he emerges.

R'val chuckles, nodding, unsurprised, "The blue egg is, naturally, housing
a blue!"

L'ton says "I almost hope Luana won't Ride.. Rather she didn't have to
risk a lacing."

On the sands, Alejandro smiles as the blue contemplates Misharn, then
looks over at the next one, grinning at his entrance.

K'tyn grins, "R'val! Another blue."

Kershala says "Oh... he's lovely."

On the sands, Mountain-Stream Blue Hatchling turns his head from the Istan
candidate to give Misharn the full force of his undivided attention. His
eyes shift to a deep green color as he leans his head against her, the
better to stare lovingly into her eyes.

Sylotra pats Aerth, "Wow, another blue. Just like you."

From Penath's neckridge, T'vor unstraps, securing his gear.

T'vor nimbly slides out of his seat on Penath's neck, using a thoughtfully
extended and lowered forelimb to land gently on the ground.

On the sands, The leafy emerald green egg gives a small tremble as if it
might be cold, even upon the heat of the hatching sands, and then settles
back into it's little resting place.

T'vor heads over to the Igen contingent.

On the sands, Verue chuckles and says to Alejandro in a quiet asside,
"That one there, the blue, matches his egg!"

Shandra grins at Lemarath, "Okay, that I caught." She waves to T'vor.

Kassima shakes her head. "She didn't, R'val. Just whuffled him, then
snorted and turned away. To quote her, 'That is *nay* the Someone
Special.' Sounded rather indignant about it." At P'tran's words, she
chuckles. "Oh, I doubt it, sir... though then-Craftmaster Dwane seemed
convinced I was going to steal away another Apprentice every time I went
near the Hall. He was right, in fact... found Valetudan at the same Search
that Lysseth tried to Search that babe."

Kershala surges to her feet with a gasp and grin. "Is he... I think he's
watching Misharn!"

T'vor nods to Shandra and goes over to stand by her and J'rell.

Katany looks up. "T'vor. You're late." That said she looks down again,
watching Kimber.

Qinan blinks as the blue emerges. Ah well not what he was thinking of but
beautiful none the less.

Cirdanth rumbles enthusiastic agreement, bugling for the little one.

R'val grins,' Yes! Shala, I do believe that one has snatched up Misharn>"

Aerth BUGLES a greeting to the new blue, and then rumbles softly, rather
amused but proud, at his lifemates' child.

P'tran nods to Kassima and then gives a brief greeting to T'vor.

T'vor smiles to Katany, "I'm on T'vor time."

Aisha smiles. "Some things don't change. Hi T'vor."

On the sands, Alejandro nods to Verue in agreement, grinning. He nods
slightly as the lighter blue chooses.

Alyssa waves to, and salutes, T'vor as he arrives before looking back to
the sands.

Margret sighs, "Ach...." sadly. Poor Kimber..."There be more eggs tho..."

Miritha glances at L'ton. "I want Mirval to, I just am gonna be so old
when he's old enough. People are getting less scores these days than
before, anyway. Sort of."

On the sands, Vtanth lets out a loud rumble of pride as another hatches,
and another Impresses.

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling quivers slightly, his damp hide
twitching as he shakes off bits and pieces of egg shards. Peering around
the sands, he remains still for a moment, almost taken aback by the
frenzied activity.

Kassima turns her head at all the admiring sounds, and makes a few
herself. "Faranth, he's lovely... eh, Shala? Misharn?" She peers down at
the watery-looking hatchling again. "I take it that's the girl he seems
enamored with. Well, good for her!"

Garia holds Taria a little closer as the toddler stares wide-eyed at the
sands.

On the sands, T'quinn smiles towards Misharn and the blue at her feet,
nodding in satisfaction.

On the sands, K'ri yawns softly and her head slumps down on her chest,
within seconds she is deep asleep.

On the sands, Misharn drops to her knees, grinning wildly, "Thank you,
Dasanth," she gives him a hug.

Kershala lets out a whoop! "Misharn! Shards, Misharn! He's gorgeous.
Dasanth? Perfect!"

On the sands, Maicia grins delightedly at Misharn and calls out her
congrats,

Keriann leans foward, watching the blue hatchling. She lets out a cheer
when he turns to Misharn. "Dasanth!"

Margret's eyes unfocus as Aberuth takes her attention.

Janick cheers as misharn impresses...finally, "Dasanth? wow thats a great
name!"

On the sands, Kimber smiles at Misharn and Dasanth.

Alyssa cheers as the blue hatchling chooses his lifemate. "Felicitations!
A lovely blue too!"

Jehrina snorts cheerfully at T'vor.

On the sands, Anndora watches the dazed little blue quietly.

T'vor snorts chearfully back to Jehrina.

R'val grins, nodding in satisfaction, "Excellent!"

On the sands, K'ri smiles for the newest pair and waves to them,..." This
way.." and she motions to the opening of the small cave

K'tyn grins, only now catching sight of T'vor. He salutes, then turns back
to watch the sands avidly.

Sylotra smiles, "Nice nose, that one. Good impression."

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling gathers himself up, and witha final
shake, launches himself to his feet. Deliberately taking another moment to
assess his position, he stretches his tiny wings, swishes his tail, and
then looks around at all the white-robed figures.

T'vor returns the salute casually. He turns to watch the sands.

Kassima whistles. "Nice name indeed, and a fine pairing all 'round. But
then, so all of them are. I take it you know her, Shala?"

On the sands, Misharn rises to her feet, resting a hand on the blue, "Come
on, let's get you some food," she shakes her head in amazement, joy fills
her eyes.

On the sands, The leafy emerald green egg tilts very slowly and finaly
rolls onto it's side with a strange little quivering movement as the
dragonette inside struggles.

On the sands, Kimber shakes herself from her reverie and watches the
twilight blue.

On the sands, Alejandro chuckles quietly at the dark blue, crossing his
arms as he watches.

Kershala grins and nods quickly. "Misharn's a... WAS... a herder I knew."

R'val grins at Kershala, "Not any more."

On the sands, Dasanth rubs his head against Misharn's legs before
following her, a joyful swing in his tail.

On the sands, Misharn disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Dasanth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Nialla finally bursts out with, "I'm _so_ glad for Misharn." Her comment
is so forceful as to suggest she wasn't going to open her mouth again but
couldn't quite help it.

L'ton chuckles, "I searched Misharn. Glad to see Tasorth's first choice
was born out."

On the sands, Verue notices his tension is getting to him, and tips his
head to one side, rotating his neck as if to work out a kink. When he's
done, he looks once more at the sands, and the dusky blue!

T'vor kneels down and watches. He seems neither impressed nor unimpressed.

On the sands, Sabriel walks onto the sands from the Bowl entrance.

On the sands, Anndora smiles at the blue as he looks about, then glances
for a moment at the green egg.

Kershala grins over at Nialla. "So am I. She'll be a fine rider..."

Kassima grins. "So much the better, then! Now for the next, a bronze nay
doubt... hmmm? Oh, Lyss, 'tis nay brown. Bronze." She shakes her head,
sighing. "Silly dragon."

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling lifts his head and gives a shrill
bugle, startling some Candidates nearby. Looking more confident now, he
moves towards a group near the center of the sands, small wedge-shaped
head swinging back and forth as he studies the faces.

On the sands, K'ri cracks her knuckles and looks at the dwindling clutch
then back at the dusky blue....

On the sands, Anndora is one of the startled Candidates. She grins at the
blue.

Qinan hmms looking at the next egg. Perhaps another green...

On the sands, Kimber looks past the blue at the clutch, her eyes not quiet
focusing on any particular one.

On the sands, The leafy emerald green egg shakes a little harder, as if it
can feel the eyes upon it, and ends up falling end over end down the
little mound of sand where it lays still after spinning around a time or
two.

On the sands, Alejandro grins at the dusky blue, studing him as intently
as he's studying the others.

Nialla giggles at Kershala, "Of course she will be."

On the sands, Maicia's eyes dart betwen the leafy egg and the twilight
blue.

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling moves towards Anndora, his attention
caught by her sudden movement. After studying her for a minute, he
abruptly turns and waddles away. Nope.

On the sands, Sabriel looks from the Blue hatchling to the rocking egg,
not sure which one she should be watching

On the sands, T'quinn watches with a smile as the Twilight Blue examines
the Candidates.

On the sands, The leafy emerald green egg emits a loud cracking sound as
it begins to tremble, and flecks of shell begin falling away with the
dragonete's efforts.

Miritha catches her breath for a moment, then lets it out. "Well! I almost
thought for a moment there that you and I would both be wrong, Dei."

On the sands, Anndora sighs, her shoulders slumping a little as she is
dismissed by the blue.

Sylotra sighs as the blue turns away from Anndora, "That'd break my heart,
I think."

On the sands, Alejandro turns his head slightly to watching what's
emerging from the green egg.

K'tyn shakes his head at the Twilight Blue, "Cruel blue!"

On the sands, Maicia runs a hand through her bangs, leaving them spiky.
She chooses to watch the green egg, with the blue hatchling in the corner
of her eye.

On the sands, The jagged crack at the top of the egg widens and the cap of
the egg breaks off, leaving the rest of the egg intact. Hesitantly, a
dragonet pushes her way out.

On the sands, Sabriel sees the Blue pass over Anndora and takes her hand,
giving it a little squeeze.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling:
This green dragonet is larger than many newly hatched greens, more by the
strength of her larger bones than anything else. She is the green of a
summer meadow, clear with a touch of yellow to it. Yet, as she moves, you
can see highlights like the dappling of sun through trees on her, shaded
splotches of color shifting fluidly over her muscles. Darker patches, in
the shadows of her body are a darker color, the color of fall darkened
leaves. She moves more slowly than some dragonets, her movements careful
and concentrated.

Deirdre says ".Another. green?"

On the sands, Verue shifts from foot to foot on the sands, though it
couldn't be due to the heat, as his boots should well protect him. More
that it is due to his returning nervousness, this time as more and more
eggs hatch and impress around him.

P'tran hmms and gives a somber nod. "That happens sometimes. The hatchling
is just not for you."

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling passes by several girls, stopping
for a quick glance at Sabriel. Then he hurries past, his movements growing
more frantic and uncoordinated as his agitation builds.

Qinan alughs. Hes right!

R'val tsks, grinning, "Another green. Vidarth is looking far too pleased."

Vidarth rumbles smugly.

On the sands, Anndora gives Sabriel's hand a squeeze in return and turns
her attention to the newly-hatched green.

L'ton smiles, "Oh, I do like this hatching."

T'vor looks at R'val, "He's looking forward to losing more flights, eh?"

Aerth rumbles approval of the newly hatched green. A beauty.

R'val grins at T'vor, "He doesn't remember losing or winning, only
chasing. He's stubborn if nothing else."

Kassima grins. "Green! Nay better way to be wrong than with green. Don't
you *dare* deafen me again, Lysseth!" She turns to R'val and wrinkles her
nose. "He would be."

Miritha crows with laughter. "Another green. I'd been wanting a green or
three more around, anyway. We need them!"

On the sands, K'ri sighs with pleasure at the sight of another green,..."
Fine clutch here...lovely colors too!"

Deirdre says, a touch of warning, "Not too much, you don't."

On the sands, Alejandro watches the green hatch with a slight smile, then
looks back at the blue, hmming at his movements.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling shakes out her damp wings in a
strangely graceful movement for a newly hatch dragonete and pulls herself
up into a fairly correct sitting possision as if saying 'look, they saved
the best for last!'

On the sands, Verue glances apprehensively at the blue that seems quite
anxious to find a match. He looks also at the green sitting up among her
shards.

On the sands, Anndora grins at the green, trying again to relax.

On the sands, Maicia smiles as a green appears from the shards of the
green egg. She glances at Kimber, then back to the dragonets.

R'val winks at Kassima unrepetantly and pats his blue's side as he watches
the last few eggs hatch.

Miritha leans over to kiss Deirdre's cheek. "For the _wings_, love. I only
need a half-dozen or so of my own."

Deanne watches carefully.

Qinan looks down watching the green and blue on the sands and then to
kimber..and just watches.

On the sands, To one side, yet another green emerges from her egg, making
a beeline for a stout weyrlad.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling swings her head around to her dam and
sire and takes in a huge breath of air before letting out a silvery
*TRUMPET* sounding much larger then her small form.

On the sands, Maicia blinks at the power of the green's young lungs.

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling hurries along the circle of
Candidates, head swiveling back and forth more swiftly. Suddenly, he
brakes to an abrupt halt beside a young man with sandy hair. Snout almost
plunging into the sand, he corrects himself and pulls his head up to stare
at the face.

On the sands, A tall girl from the Weaver craft beams happily as a little
green pauses before her. She draps her arm around her mate and together,
they make their way towards the other weyrlings.

On the sands, Alejandro wows quietly at the green's bugle, then chuckles
at the blue.

Kassima rolls her eyes at R'val and leans forward again, watching green
and blue both carefully. "I think the blue's found someone...."

On the sands, Anndora grins broadly as the weyrlad Impresses, then
realizes that he's four Turns younger than she is and sighs.

Deirdre snorts, sliding an arm around her weyrmate. "To be young again."

R'val nods in agreement with Kassima, peering intently at the sands, "I
think you'r right, Kassi."

Prometh rumbles curiously, peering down to the sands at the tiny green
one's trumpet. K'tyn glances up, blushing. "Yes, She'll get big! Like
Lysseth or Erinyth."

Cirdanth catches that and turns to eye Prometh.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling tilts her muzzle up, there, wasn't
that beautiful! Though as she turns around to looks at all those whitely-
clad humans she falls over onto her stomach with a *fwump*. Oh, ment to do
that! Quickly she sits back up, all the best hatchlings do that you know!

On the sands, Verue watches the blue watching his choice...

Kershala giggles at the green, ignoring Cirdanth.

Miritha laughs. "It _was_ fun, wasn't it? You know, T'rod and I have been
flirting with each other for Turns. At least, he's been flirting with me,
and I've been keeping him from stopping."

On the sands, Kimber watches her feet, carefully inspecting the sand
there.

On the sands, Anndora chuckles at the green. She mutters to Sabriel, She
mutters to Sabriel, "She's..."

Janick giggles at the little green on the sand and leans against Cirdanth,
"Dragons are so silly sometimes"

On the sands, Twilight Blue Hatchling slows, his movements slowing down
and becoming calm as he feels something that he knows is right. Gazing at
Verue, he warbles in a high tone.

On the sands, Alejandro looks at the green with amusement, then back at
the blue.

Cirdanth pointedly curls his neck over Lysseth's.

Deirdre says "Are you going to sleep with him?"

On the sands, K'ri watches the blue, then the young man, a large smile
comes to her face as the impression is obviously made!

Sylotra gazes on the green with wide eyes and cheers her on.

On the sands, Verue grins at the blue, tipping his head to one side
curiously for a moment...

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling hisses as she shakes her wings to get
the sand off of them, and shakes her head a bit as she sneazes. How rude!
Her eyes whirl an upset red-hue as she scans the nearby candidates.

Kassima furrows her brow and peers at Shala. "All right, what's going on?"
She scoots even further forward on Lysseth's foreleg, not wishing to be
squished by flirting dragons.

Prometh , just as pointedly, peers at the sands.

On the sands, Anndora glances across at Verue and the blue, then looks
back at the green, grinning.

On the sands, Sabriel yays for Verue, "Congrats!" but quickly turns back
to the eggs.

On the sands, V'rue is shocked and dumbfounded, and his gaze seem to
become a physical thing, looking into the eyes of the blue before him. He
lowers himself slowly to the hatchling's height and says clearly, so that
all can hear his exaltation: "His name is Jorianth!" To Jorianth he says,
"Yes... Food. We'll get some! ...I'm sort of hungry now myself come to
think of it!"

Nialla just stares at Deirdre. Until she realizes she's staring, looks
back at the sands, and exhales slowly.

On the sands, Alejandro gives Verue a broad grin, nodding his complete
approval, then looks back at the green, chuckling quietly.

Kershala blinks at Kassi and shrugs. "He still figures Lysseth and he can
make a... go of it. Dragons."

Vidarth bugles loudly! as the latest blue makes his choice!

Alyssa smiles, cheering for the blue who has finally Impressed. "A
handsome blue for that fellow! How grand!"

Miritha turns her head around long enough to look at Nialla curiously.

Tasorth warbles happily as the blue picks a lifemate.

On the sands, The final two eggs shatter, their occupants shaking
themselves off before waddling over to the thinning ranks of the
Candidates. They quickly find their mates with joyous shouts and creels.
Arms encircled about the silky necks, the new weyrlings slowly make their
way over to where the proud Weyrlingmaster stands.

On the sands, Vtanth rumbles a low note of satisfaction as the blue makes
his choice. His rider smiles encouragingly, leaning into his dragon,
seemingly weakened again.

Deirdre says seriously to Miritha, "It's not really worth it, trust me.
Not that I intend for that to stop you, but..."

P'tran grins as the blue Impresses. "INteresting progression of colors
this time around," he comments

On the sands, K'ri grins at the new pair and ushers them over,..." C'mon,
just inside this cave here and then..." her words trail off as the pair
approach.

R'val nods, smiling, "WEll. THat looks like it."

Jehrina nods at P'tran.

On the sands, V'rue chuckles to Jorianth, "I saw you too! Looking at all
the others... You want me??" He's grinning from ear to ear.

On the sands, Maicia glances quickly around the circle, then moves her
attention to the blue and V'rue. She cheers, then looks around and
realizes the green is the last Hatchling. She gulps quietly and somehow
the end of her braids ends up in her mouth.

Miritha laughs at Deirdre's words. "Oh, no, love. No, I haven't any
particular intentions of giving in."

Lysseth warblecroons, whuffling lightly at Cirdanth, as Kassi rolls her
eyes. "Bright Faranth. Dragons, go figure... oooh, look! Jorianth! Rather
good name for a blue! Or any dragon, for that matter...."

Qinan sighs as the last eggs hatch and watches the last green work her way
towards her lifemate somewhere out on the sands.

Miritha says "It's a game, and a bit of a fun one at that."

On the sands, V'rue retains his eye-lock with Jorianth as they walk
together off the sands. You would swear that if they walked around
different sides of a post, you would hear the <THUD> of their gaze
impacting on the wood.

On the sands, Jorianth rubs his head against V'rue's leg, his jeweled eyes
whirling.

On the sands, V'rue disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling *TRUMPETS* again as the blue gets all
the attention and takes a smooth, graceful step forward for someone just
right for her! She moves right over to a lad from Ruatha, eyeing him up
and down for a moment before disrguarding him. Nope, not even close!

On the sands, Anndora chews on her lip as the final two eggs hatch and
Impress, watching the lone little green.

On the sands, Jorianth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, Alejandro smiles as V'rue walks off, then just watches the
green, content enough to have stood.

Kershala leans against Cirdanth, trying very hard to ignore the twining
necks and whuffling. Dragons.

Deanne bites her lip.

K'tyn grins at the green, cheering for her to make a choice.

On the sands, Maicia glances around at her friends who remain, then turns
her gaze to the final green.

On the sands, Sabriel shakes her head, a grin on her face, One hatchling..
so many candidates.

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling arches her neck and fans out her
wings prettily as she moves, liking this attention much better! She
stretches out her neck and whuffles at a lass from Harper hall, but as she
draws back moves on. No scardy-lifemates for this green!

On the sands, Anndora watches the green intently, chewing on her lip,
clearly quite nervous.

On the sands, Alejandro grins at the green, half admiring her arrogance.
He gives a quiet chuckle, then stands quietly.

Katany asks Narai, quietly, "Are you going straight home, after?"

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling snakes her head around to look up at
her dam and sire and warbles questioningly up at them.

On the sands, Sabriel giggles at the green.

Cirdanth croons for the little green, still draped over Lysseth.

Narai looks around, hesitating before her response. "Probably. I don't
really know any of the lucky kids down there, and it's late."

On the sands, Maicia sucks on the tip of her braid, her eyes remaining
glued to the green. She shifts from foot to foot as the heat penetrates
her thin sandals.

On the sands, Shalith warbles encouragingly to her daughter.

On the sands, Alejandro shakes his head, then stretches slightly. After a
moment, he goes back to standing quietly, watching the green with a faint
smile.

On the sands, K'ri ushers a few new pairs off the sands as the last green
takes her time in choosing...

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling warbles back and looks forward again,
taking another graceful step forward as she walks down the line again.
Finaly she comes to someone not looking at /her/ and snorts at her.

K'tyn leans close. "Looks like this is it!"

Lysseth warbles encouragement to the green 'sister' on the Sands,
snuggling close to the nice, warm brown Cirdanth. "Watch it, Lyss..." her
rider mutters, sliding over to the farther foreleg. "Sheesh. Hey, Shala,
you've got a good view. Did that green just choose?"

Qinan ohs peering forward to see who...

On the sands, Alejandro laughs quietly at the green's indignance.

On the sands, Sabriel is looking at the green, so it can't be her :p but
she doesn't care.

On the sands, Kimber looks up from the sand.

Malia goes home.

Kershala shakes her head. "I can't see... It looks like it."

Karise nods, finally moving from her comfortable perch. She watches the
green. Cute....but just not her Erinyth. She smiles, as the green croons.
"Yes, you were that small."

Sylotra leans over the edge of the ledge, trying to get a better look.

On the sands, Anndora sighs and lets her eyes drift away from the green.

Alyssa's eyes follow the green hatchling's progression, curiously. "She's
almost chosen someone..."

Janick says "she's picky thats for sure"

Deirdre mutters to Miritha, "... think... party, not... Will... me?"

On the sands, Meadow Green Hatchling fans out her wings and allows a soft
little croon to escape her as she stretches her muzzle closer to Kimber's
upturned face.

Qinan yesess "go kimber!!!!"

Miritha tightens the arm wrapped around Deirdre's waist and smiles,
murmuring back to her.

P'tran grins and says finally, "There we go. There's always a picky one in
the lot."
Katany grins, all at once. "Meg will be so pleased. Oh, how lovely."

R'val grins< "Finally! That picky green chose."

On the sands, Kimber's face softens. "Kerinth?? Kerinth?!?" She breaks
into a huge grin and hugs her tightly.

Aerth rumbles and snags Lottie's tunic with a claw, eyes whirling happily
as he watches the hatchling choose, and keeps Lottie safe, too. So
talented, he is.

K'tyn looks up at Prometh. "You were /nearly/ that picky."

"Congratulations!" Alyssa calls down loudly to Kimber and her new
lifemate. "Kerinth is a fine name for a fine green!"

On the sands, Alejandro chuckles softly at the green and her new lifemate.
"Congratulations, Kimber."

G'rel grins toward the sands, as well, approvingly. Then winks toward
Katany.

Kershala nods happily, know the girl or not, and finally looks up with a
scowl at the entwined pair. "'Danth, we *will* have to go home soon." She
glances back and nods in satisfaction. "Kerinth... I like it."

Kassima leans even farther forward, looking about to fall off of Lysseth's
leg as she points. "There we go! Another greenrider lass, looks like...
ah, Kerinth. Quite a name!"

L'ton grins.

On the sands, Vtanth buglesly loudly, his eyes whirling swiftly, his
bearing one of pride as the last of the clutch Impresses.

On the sands, Anndora smiles her congratulations to Kimber, then rubs her
nose with the back of her wrist as if it itches.

On the sands, K'ri sighs and relaxes as the green finds a mate,.." Kimber?
would you show Kerinth over this way,...and we'll get her some food and
some oil"

On the sands, Kerinth whuffles into Kimbers hair and croons loudly to her
lifemate.

On the sands, Sabriel smiles as the Green finds her lifemate, she waves to
Kimber and congratulates her!

Kassima makes a face at Shala. "Can *you* separate them? I feel like I'm
about to be squashed by amorous dragons. Nay a pleasant way to go."

On the sands, Shalith rises up and bugles loudly as all her children find
their lifemates.

Janick pats 'Danths leg as the last dragon impresses

Kershala grins. "HE seems to think it's the ideal way to go..." she
mutters, but kicks Cirdanth's leg lightly. "Going flying or no? We've got
passengers to get home."

On the sands, Kimber doesn't let go for a long moment, then straightens
up, tears streaming down her face.

Janelle gives Lunarth a scritch then begins to scramble up in hopes of
making him behave.

From Atop Aerth, Shaylar grins at Aerth, "Cocky thing, See, you missed
it." She chuckles when her lifemate wuffs indignantly, and BUGLES a
greeting to the new green to get to know.

On the sands, F'ren moves off towards the last candidates on the sands,
now that the last hatchling has choosen its mate.

From Lunarth's neck, Janelle buckles herself in securely.

On the sands, Kerinth lifts her muzzle away from Kimber and lets out
another loud *TRUMPET* with her dam.

Lunarth extends his wings, the pinions drifting from his body like fluffy
clouds rolling about the sky on a lazy summer's day.

Lunarth launches off the ledge, banking through the aerial entrance to the
Bowl.

On the sands, Maicia glances at Kimber with a smile, then looks back at
the green.:smiles faintly, "Congrats, Kimber." She glances around and
moves towards the other Candidates who haven't Impressed.

On the sands, Kimber disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Nialla sits up with a happy sigh, and then gets to her feet as she hears
Kershala talking about leaving.

On the sands, Kerinth disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

On the sands, K'ri disappears into a small cave just off the sands.

Deanne looks around to make see if her ride is still there. :)

P'tran smiles as he turns away from the sands. "A very fine hatching," he
comments. "Fort can be proud."

Narai finds Farrith again, grinning. "That's my darling." Farrith Is
Asleep.

Karise nods, and with that, mounts up.

Shandra nods, "Absolutely a beautiful clutch."

On the sands, Alejandro yawns quietly, looking around him. Hmm...bedtime.

Janick walks over to shala meekly and taps her shoulder lightly, "Um..hate
to ask this just wondering when we have to be back at the beast hold

T'vor smiles to Narai as he stands up.

Karise grabs a one-handed hold of Erinyth's riding straps and vaults to
her lifemate's shoulders.

Katany catches G'rel's wink and smiles back at him, eyes bright as she
stands.

On the sands, F'ren motions the candidates to him. "If all of you will
follow me, please."

Elynie climbs up to settle on Druith's neck, using his foreleg to
assist.

T'vor nods to Shandra and silently strides to Penath.

Cirdanth snorts, the obvious connotation being, do I really have to? But
for once... for ONCE... he obeys and undoes himself with a wistful rumble
to Lysseth.

Erinyth launches off the ledge, banking through the aerial entrance to the
Bowl.

On the sands, F'ren walks out of the Hatching Grounds, to the Bowl.
